Cal Marvin
Calvin Coolidge "Cal" Marvin (April 29, 1924 – May 9, 2004) was an American ice hockey defenseman and coach who led the Warroad Lakers for nearly 50 years and was inducted into the United States Hockey Hall of Fame in 1982. Career Marvin's father George immigrated to Warroad from Canada and bought a lumber company that would eventually become Marvin Windows. Calvin with the fifth of five boys and while three of his brothers would work for the family company, Cal would find a different career path. Cal served in the marines during World War II, fighting on Saipan during the Mariana and Palau Islands campaign. Even in the midst of the war, Marvin was enamored with hockey and wanted his small hometown to have a rink of its own; he named the Warroad Arena Fund as the beneficiary of his $10,000 life insurance policy (roughly $145,000 in 2020). Lee Marvin
Lee Marvin (born Lamont Waltman Marvin Jr.; February 19, 1924August 29, 1987) was an American film and television actor. Known for his bass voice and premature white hair, he is best remembered for playing hardboiled "tough guy" characters. Although initially typecasting, typecast as the "heavy" (i.e. villainous character), he later gained prominence for portraying anti-hero, anti-heroes, such as Detective Lieutenant Frank Ballinger on the television series ''M Squad'' (1957–1960). Samuel Marvin
Samuel Marvin (1664–1754) was a member of the Connecticut House of Representatives from Norwalk, Connecticut, Norwalk, Connecticut Colony in the May 1718 session. He served as a townsman in 1702, 1707, 1710, 1712, 1714, 1717, 1724, and 1727. He was the son of Matthew Marvin, Jr., one of the founding settlers of Norwalk and Mary Brush Marvin. On June 3, 1723 he was appointed by a town meeting to a committee to seat the new meeting-house, of which his brother-in-law, Joseph Platt (politician), Joseph Platt, was chairman. From February 1732, until his death, he lived in Wilton, Connecticut, Wilton parish, which, at the time was part of Norwalk. His house in Norwalk was still standing in 1902. References

Michelle Triola (November 13, 1932 – October 30, 2009) was an American woman notable for unsuccessfully suing actor Lee Marvin in 1977, having cohabited with him from 1965 to 1970. The trial, which brought about the concept of palimony, was widely covered in the media at the time.
