''Marvi'' ( ur, ) is a Pakistani drama series broadcast on Pakistan Television Corporation (PTV) in 1993. It was a modern version of a Sindhi folktale, "Umar Marvi". It starred Ghazal Siddique as Marvi and Hassam Qazi as Umar. Badar Khalil ( ur, ; born 15 October 1944), also known as 'Baddo Aapa', is a Pakistani television actress. She gained popularity for her role in the TV play Bi Jamalo portraying herself as Bi Jamalo. Later on, she appeared in many as hit TV serials on PTV from 1968 to now. She also did a TV show ''Mithu Aur Aapa'', a critically acclaimed comedy play on Hum TV. Asad Qureshi
Asad Qureshi is a British filmmaker who was kidnapped on 26 March 2010 by a militant group called the " Asian Tigers" in Pakistan's Federally Administered Tribal Areas along the Afghanistan border, where he was making a film in North Waziristan and interviewing Taliban leaders. Qureshi was accompanied by his driver, Rustam Khan, and two senior members of the Inter-Services Intelligence, Khalid Khawaja and Colonel Imam during his trip. All four were abducted; Khawaja was killed and his body was found a month later in Mir Ali with an attached note accusing him of spying for the United States and being responsible for killing people during the Siege of Lal Masjid. Umar Marvi or Marui ( sd, عمر مارئي, ur, ), is a folktale from Sindh, Pakistan about a village girl Marvi Maraich, who resists the overtures of a powerful King and the temptation to live in the palace as a queen, preferring to be in simple rural environment with her own village folk. The story also appears in Shah Jo Risalo and forms part of seven popular tragic romances from Sindh, Pakistan. Noor Ul Huda Shah
Noorul Huda Shah (born in Hyderabad, Sindh on 22 July 1951) is a Pakistani dramatist, short story writer, poet and columnist. She was also the Information Minister during the caretaker government in Sindh. Shah writes in both Sindhi and Urdu. She is best known for writing popular TV serials like J''ungle'', ''Marvi'', ''Faaslay'' and ''Tapish''. Sindhi People
Sindhis ( sd, سنڌي Perso-Arabic: सिन्धी Devanagari; ) are an Indo-Aryan ethnic group who speak the Sindhi language and are native to the province of Sindh in Pakistan. After the partition of British Indian empire in 1947, many Sindhi Hindus and Sindhi Sikhs migrated to the newly independent Dominion of India and other parts of the world.
