Martin J. "Marty" Moylan (born 1951) is the Illinois state representative for the 55th district. The 55th district includes all or parts of Arlington Heights, Des Plaines, Elk Grove Village, Park Ridge and the Edison Park Neighborhood. Rosemary Mulligan
Rosemary Mulligan (July 8, 1941 – December 30, 2014) served as a Republican Party member of the Illinois House of Representatives for ten terms, representing the 55th District in the northwest suburbs of Chicago from 1993 until 2013. A moderate Republican, Mulligan was particularly known as a strong abortion rights advocate. Background Born in Chicago, Illinois, Mulligan went to Illinois State University and then received her associate degree in legal technology from Harper College. Mulligan's father was murdered in 1967 while picking up a shift for a friend as an insurance salesman. Edison Park (formerly Canfield) is one of the 77 community areas of Chicago. It is located on the North Side, Chicago, Illinois. It consists entirely of the Edison Park neighborhood, and is named after Thomas Alva Edison, who gave his blessing to this community namesake in 1890. According to the 2000 Census, its population is 11,259. Edison Park has one of the highest concentrations of Irish ancestry in Chicago, where they make up over three-fourths of the neighborhood's population. The ''Daily Herald'' is a daily newspaper based in Arlington Heights, Illinois, a suburb of Chicago. The newspaper is distributed in the northern, northwestern and western suburbs of Chicago. The State Board of Elections (SBE) is an independent agency of the U.S. state of Illinois. The SBE, as an acronym, refers both to the eight-member bipartisan board of directors and to the agency that it oversees.
