Martine Djibo
Martine Aya Djibo (died 30 October 2022) was an Ivorian educator and politician who served in the National Assembly from 1975 until 1980 and from 1990 until 2010. Although initially a member of the PDCI-RDA party, she defected in 2004 and founded the Party for the Unity of the Republic of Côte d'Ivoire, citing frustrations with the party amid the First Ivorian Civil War. Career Djibo began her teaching career in the central city of Bouaké. After initially teaching Spanish at Martin Luther King College and CEG Koko, she later became the director of the Modern College for Young Girls. A member and activist of the Democratic Party of Ivory Coast – African Democratic Rally (PDCI-RDA), Djibo was appointed to the National Assembly by President Félix Houphouët-Boigny in 1975, becoming the first woman to represent Bouaké. National Assembly (Ivory Coast)
The National Assembly is lower house of the Parliament of Ivory Coast since November 2016. From 1960 to 2016, the National Assembly was Ivory Coast's unicameral legislative body. Evolved from semi-representative bodies of the French Colonial period, the first National Assembly was constituted on 27 November 1960 with 70 elected members (''députés'') in accordance with the Constitution of 31 October 1960, which created the First Republic. 2010 Ivorian Presidential Election
Presidential elections were held in Ivory Coast in 2010. The first round was held on 31 October, and a second round, in which President Laurent Gbagbo faced opposition leader Alassane Ouattara, was held on 28 November 2010. Association Of Ivorian Women
The Association des Femmes Ivoiriennes (AFI) or Association of Ivorian Women is a women's organization in the Ivory Coast, the women's wing of the Democratic Party of Ivory Coast (PDCI). History The AFI was created in 1963 by Ivory Coast's First Lady, Marie-Thérèse Houphouët-Boigny, to replace the Feminine Committee, a previously active women's wing of the PDCI. Houphouët-Boigny was honorary president. Jeanne Gervais was the first vice president, and later the longrunning AFI president. Gladys Anoma was secretary general. In 1976 the AFI successfully pressed for Gervais to be appointed government minister for women. An electoral roll (variously called an electoral register, voters roll, poll book or other description) is a compilation that lists persons who are entitled to vote for particular elections in a particular jurisdiction.
