Martina Clausner
Martina Clausner is a German former figure skater who represented East Germany. She is the 1966 Prize of Moscow News champion, a two-time Blue Swords silver medalist, and a three-time East German national medalist, having won one silver and two bronze medals. She competed at three World Championships and three European Championships in the 1960s. Clausner was coached by Jutta Müller. The Prague Skate (sometimes titled Golden Skate; from 1994: Czech Skate) is an international figure skating competition. It was a senior event from the 1960s to 1997, usually held in November or December in Prague. Medals were awarded in the disciplines of men's singles, ladies' singles, and pair skating. ''Neues Deutschland'' (''nd''; en, New Germany, sometimes stylized in lowercase letters) is a left-wing German daily newspaper, headquartered in Berlin. Richmond Trophy
The Richmond Trophy was an international figure skating competition for ladies' singles held annually from 1949 to 1980 at the Richmond Ice Rink in Twickenham, London. It was the only invitational international competition (as opposed to the ISU Championships) held on a regular basis in the post-war years. The competition was sponsored by the National Skating Association and was largely due to the activity of Arnold Gerschwiler, coach of many champions at the Richmond rink. European Figure Skating Championships
The European Figure Skating Championships is an annual figure skating competition in which figure skaters compete for the title of European champion. Medals are awarded in the disciplines of men's singles, women's singles, pair skating, and ice dance. The event is sanctioned by the International Skating Union (ISU) and is the sport's oldest competition. The first European Championships was held in 1891 in Hamburg, Germany and featured one segment, compulsory figures, with seven competitors, all men from Germany and Austria. It has been, other than five periods, held continuously since 1891, and has been sanctioned by the ISU since 1893. Women were allowed to compete for the first time in 1930, which is also the first time pairs skating was added to the competition. Ice dance was added in 1954. Jutta Müller
Jutta Müller ( Lötzsch; born 13 December 1928) is a German former figure skater and one of the most successful figure skating coaches worldwide. Personal life Jutta Lötzsch was born to Marie Lötzsch (née Prusky) and Emil Lötzsch, the 1930 Saxony champion in wrestling. Her first marriage was to Wolfgang Seyfert. They had a daughter, Gabriele Seyfert, before divorcing. Her second husband was Bringfried Müller (1931–2016), an East German soccer player. Career In 1949, Müller won the East German Championships in women's pair skating with partner Irene Salzmann. This category was created because of the lack of men in Germany after World War II. The World Figure Skating Championships (''"Worlds"'') is an annual figure skating competition sanctioned by the International Skating Union.
