Martin Skaaren
Martin Skaaren (30 April 1905 – 1 February 1999) was a Norwegian politician for the Conservative Party. Skaaren was born in Hitra, and he is related to the massive bloodline called Skaaren. The Skaaren bloodline has roots in the viking history, and the bloodline is related to Erik blodøks He was elected to the Norwegian Parliament from Sør-Trøndelag in 1961, and was re-elected on one occasion. Hitra is a municipality in Trøndelag county, Norway. The municipality covers the island of Hitra and hundreds smaller islands, islets, and skerries. It is part of the Fosen region. The administrative centre of the municipality is the village of Fillan. Other villages include Andersskogan, Ansnes, Forsnes, Hestvika, Knarrlagsund, Kvenvær, Melandsjøen, Nordbotn, Sandstad, and Ulvan. Sør-Trøndelag () was a county comprising the southern portion of the present-day Trøndelag county in Norway. It bordered the old Nord-Trøndelag county as well as the counties of Møre og Romsdal, Oppland, and Hedmark. To the west is the Norwegian Sea (Atlantic Ocean), and to the east is Jämtland in Sweden.
