Martin Okoth Ochola
Martin Okoth Ochola, is a Ugandan police officer, who serves as the Inspector General of Police (IGP) of the Uganda Police Force, the highest rank in that branch of Uganda's government, effective 4 March 2018. He replaced General Kale Kayihura. Immediately prior to his present assignment, Ochola served as the Deputy Inspector General of Police, deputizing IGP Kayihura, the man he replaced. Background and education He was born on 19 September 1958, in ''Agumiti Village'', Mulanda sub-county, West Budama County, in Tororo District. He attended ''Abweli Primary School'', then ''Rock View Primary School'' and ''Kisoko Boys Primary School'', where he sat his Primary Leaving Examinations. Daily Monitor
The ''Daily Monitor'' is a Ugandan independent daily newspaper. Its name is shared by the ''Saturday Monitor'' and ''Sunday Monitor'', which are also published by Monitor Publications Limited. ''Daily Monitor'' averaged a daily circulation of 24,230 newspapers in September 2011. By the fourth quarter of 2019, that figure had dropped to 16,169 copies daily. Mbale is a city in the Eastern Region of Uganda. It is the main municipal, administrative, and commercial center of Mbale District and the surrounding sub-region. The Uganda Police Force is the national police force of Uganda. The head of the force is called the Inspector General of Police (IGP). The current IGP is Martin Okoth Ochola. Ochola replaced former IGP, General Kale Kayihura in March 2018. Recruitment to the forces is done annually. History The Uganda Police Force was established in 1906 by the British administration. At that time, it was referred to as the Uganda Armed Constabulary with the primary responsibility of quelling "riots and unrest." On 25 May 1906, then Captain (later Brigadier General) William F.S Edwards, DSO, arrived in Uganda and became the first Inspector General of the Uganda Protectorate Police. Luke Kercan Ofungi
Luke Kercan Ofungi (29 March 1934 – 4 September 1990) was an inspector general in the Uganda Police Force, a businessman in the travel industry in Uganda, and a member of the Alur community. Early history Ofungi was born in Padolo Village, Okoro County, Nebbi District, West Nile sub-region, Northern Region of Uganda. Between 1951 and 1953, he attended the East African Orthodox School, completing Junior Secondary III (J3). On 10 October 1954, he joined the Uganda Police Force as a recruit police constable. He was assigned to the Police Training School at Kibuli, in Kampala. On 1 January 1957, he was promoted to corporal and on 1 October 1959, to sergeant. Katumba Wamala
Edward Katumba Wamala (born 19 November 1956), more commonly known as Katumba Wamala, is a Ugandan general who serves as Minister of Works and Transport in the Ugandan cabinet, since 14 December 2019. Before that, from 17 January 2017 until 14 December 2019, he served as Minister of State for Works in the Ugandan cabinet. He previously served as the chief of defense forces of Uganda, the highest military rank in the Uganda People's Defense Force (UPDF), from 2013 until 2017. Entebbe International Airport
Entebbe International Airport is the only international airport in Uganda. It is located about southwest of the town of Entebbe, on the northern shores of Lake Victoria. This is approximately by road south-west of the central business district of Kampala, the capital city of Uganda.
