Martin Málek (born 21 August 1985) is a long track and motorcycle speedway rider from the Czech Republic. Career Málek rode for KSŻ Krosno in the Team Speedway Polish Championship for multiple years but then concentrated on longtrack racing. He won bronze medals at the 2016 Team Long Track World Championship and the 2019 Team Long Track World Championship, riding with Hynek Štichauer and Josef Franc. In 2022, he was part of the Czech team, along with Štichauer and Franc, that won the silver medal at the 2022 Team Long Track World Championship The 2022 Team Long Track World Championship also called the Long Track of Nations was the 14th annual FIM Team Long Track World Championship. KSŻ Krosno
Wilki Krosno (''Wolves Krosno'') is a Polish motorcycle speedway team based in Krosno. The club operates under the name of ''Cellfast Wilki Krosno''. The team currently competes in the Ekstraliga (the highest division). History of speedway in Krosno Legia Krosno During the 1957 Polish speedway season a team called Legia Krosno took part in the third division south using the relatively newly built MOSiR Krosno Stadium. They competed for five seasons in total, until the end of the 1961 season. Karpaty Krosno In 1962, the name of the Krosno team became Karpaty Krosno (Carpathians) after the sports club in Krosno. The team competed in the second division and achieved a best place finish of third in 1963. However, in 1969, due to financial problems, the club's activities were suspended. The FIM Team Long Track World Championship, known officially as the ''Longtrack of Nations'', is an annual track racing event since 2007 organized by the International Motorcycling Federation (FIM). The championship has been won by Germany eight times. Motorcycle speedway, usually referred to simply as speedway, is a motorcycle sport involving four and sometimes up to six riders competing over four anti-clockwise laps of an oval circuit. The motorcycles are specialist machines that use only one gear and have no brakes. Racing takes place on a flat oval track usually consisting of dirt, loosely packed shale, or crushed rock (mostly used in Australia and New Zealand). Josef Franc (born 18 January 1979, in Čáslav, Czech Republic) is a former international motorcycle racer who competed in Grasstrack, Longtrack and motorcycle speedway. Career He has appeared as a track reserve in the 2007 Czech Republic Speedway Grand Prix, scoring three points from two rides and has represented the Czech Republic national speedway team at senior level. Franc was the Czech Republic Under-21 Champion in 1999 and was the Czech Republic national champion in 2017 and 2018.
