Martin Halčin
Martin Halčin (born 22 May 1991) is a Slovak slalom canoeist who has competed at the international level since 2008, specializing mostly in the K1 discipline. He occasionally competes in kayak cross as well. He won two silver medals in the K1 team event at the ICF Canoe Slalom World Championships, earning them in 2015 and 2021. He has won one World Cup medal, a silver in Kraków in 2015. Halčin had a successful junior and under-23 career, winning the junior world title in K1 in 2008 and the European junior title in the same event in 2009. 2016 European Canoe Slalom Championships
The 2016 European Canoe Slalom Championships took place in Liptovský Mikuláš, Slovakia under the auspices of the European Canoe Association (ECA). It was the 17th edition of the competition and Liptovský Mikuláš hosted the event for the second time after previously hosting it in 2007. The events took place at the Ondrej Cibak Whitewater Slalom Course from 12 to 15 May 2016. This event also served as the European qualification for the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro. Kraków

2023 ICF Canoe Slalom World Championships – Men's Kayak Cross
The men's kayak cross event at the 2023 ICF Canoe Slalom World Championships took place on 24 September 2023 at the Lee Valley White Water Centre in London. Competition format The kayak cross event (formerly known as extreme kayak) is split into two phases - qualification time trials and knockout phase where 4 paddlers race each other head-to-head. Top 20 paddlers from the qualification advance to the knockout phase plus the 12 next fastest paddlers from countries that have not qualified in the top 20. There are 8 heats in the first round of the knockout phase with the top 2 paddlers from each heat advancing to the next round. The same rules apply in quarterfinals and semifinals. Paddlers start their run by sliding off the starting platform several meters above the water. Then they must navigate the downstream and upstream gates. 2021 ICF Canoe Slalom World Championships – Men's K1
The Men's K1 at the 2021 ICF Canoe Slalom World Championships took place on 23 and 25 September 2021 at the Čunovo Water Sports Centre in Bratislava. It was the 41st edition of the event, and 80 athletes from 36 nations competed. The event was won by Boris Neveu of France, winning his second title, after he led a French one-two-three in 2014. Italian underdog Marcello Beda won silver in his first international final, while Joan Crespo matched his result from 2019 with bronze. Background Czech Jiří Prskavec entered the event a clear favourite, as the reigning World Champion, Olympic Champion and World No. 1. 2019 ICF Canoe Slalom World Championships
The 2019 ICF Canoe Slalom World Championships were the 40th edition of the ICF Canoe Slalom World Championships. The event took place from 24 to 29 September 2019 in La Seu d'Urgell, Spain under the auspices of International Canoe Federation (ICF). The events took place at the Segre Olympic Park which also hosted the canoe slalom events at the 1992 Summer Olympics. La Seu d'Urgell hosted the championships for the third time after previously hosting the event in 1999 ICF Canoe Slalom World Championships, 1999 and 2009 ICF Canoe Slalom World Championships, 2009. The 2018 ICF Canoe Slalom World Championships were the 39th edition of the ICF Canoe Slalom World Championships. The event took place from 25 to 30 September 2018 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil under the auspices of International Canoe Federation (ICF). The competitions were held at the Deodoro Olympic Whitewater Stadium which had also hosted the canoe slalom events of the 2016 Summer Olympics. Brazil hosted the event for the third time after the 1997 championships in Três Coroas and the 2007 championships in Foz do Iguaçu. It was the first World Championships not to feature the discontinued men's C2 event. Russia and Argentina won their first ever medals at the Canoe Slalom World Championships. 2017 ICF Canoe Slalom World Championships
The 2017 ICF Canoe Slalom World Championships was the 38th edition of the ICF Canoe Slalom World Championships. The event took place from 22 September to 1 October 2017 in Pau, France under the auspices of International Canoe Federation (ICF) at the Pau-Pyrénées Whitewater Stadium. Pau was also hosting the Wildwater Canoeing World Championships as part of the same event. The Mixed C2 event returned to the world's program for the first time since 1981. The men's C2 team event was not a world championship event due to only 4 countries participating. A non-olympic event must have participants from at least 6 countries to be counted as a world championship. 2014 ICF Canoe Slalom World Championships
The 2014 ICF Canoe Slalom World Championships were the 36th edition of the ICF Canoe Slalom World Championships. The event took place from September 17 to 21, 2014 at Deep Creek Lake, Maryland, United States (Western Maryland near Pittsburgh) under the auspices of International Canoe Federation (ICF), at the Adventure Sports Center International facility. The Deep Creek bid was selected by the ICF Board of Directors on April 15, 2011 in Paris. The other bids were by Vienna and Kraków. In total there were 10 events of which 9 were medal events. The women's C1 team event did not count as a medal event due to insufficient number of participating federations.
