Martin Dorbek
Martin Dorbek (born 21 January 1991) is an Estonian professional basketball player. He is currently playing for BC Kalev/Cramo. He comes from basketball family: father Allan Dorbek is a basketball coach, brothers Erik Dorbek and Karl-Peeter Dorbek are both Estonian champions. Another basketball player Gert Dorbek is Allan's uncle's descendant. Club career Martin Dorbek started his basketball career in BC Kalev/Cramo youth system and went on to make his debut in Korvpalli Meistriliiga at the age of 17 with Kuremaa SK. After a season with bottom-finished club he rejoined BC Kalev/Cramo, but played only episodic role in their disappointing third place appearance in the 2009-2010 KML season. Guard (basketball)
In the sport of basketball, there are five players play per team, each assigned to positions. Historically, these players have been assigned, to positions defined by the role they play on the court, from a strategic point of view. The three main positions are guard, forward, and center, with the standard team featuring two guards, two forwards, and a center. FIBA U20 European Championship
The FIBA U20 European Championship, previously known as the European Championship for Men '22 and Under', is a men's youth basketball competition that was inaugurated with the 1992 edition. Through the 2004 edition, it was held biennially, but since 2005 edition, it is held every year. The tournament was originally an Under-22 age tournament, but it is now an Under-20 age tournament. The current champions are Spain. Starting with the 2005 B edition, a Division B tournament, which is the secondary level of the European Under-20 Basketball Championship, is also organized. Since the 2013 B edition, the top three placed teams at each year's Division B tournament are promoted to the next year's Division A Championship. Georgia National Basketball Team
The Georgia men's national basketball team ( ka, საქართველოს ეროვნული საკალათბურთო ნაკრები) represents the country of Georgia in international basketball matches, and is controlled by the Georgian Basketball Federation. Georgia became a member of FIBA in 1992, after they gained independence from the Soviet Union. The national team played their first official match against Poland in 1995. Baltic Basketball League
Baltic Basketball League (BBL) was the Baltic states basketball league founded in 2004. The league mainly focused on teams from the Baltic states, but teams from Sweden, Russia, Kazakhstan, Finland, and Belarus have participated in the Baltic League. After the 2017–18 season, the league announced that it was suspending its operations. Gert Dorbek
Gert Dorbek (born 10 June 1985) is an Estonian retired basketball player. He is a 1.93 m (6 ft 4 in) tall shooting guard. He has also represented the Estonian national basketball team internationally. Professional career Dorbek began playing basketball in Tiit Sokk's basketball school. He began his professional career in 2002 with Nybit of the Korvpalli Meistriliiga (KML). In 2003, Dorbek signed for TTÜ/A. Le Coq. TTÜ/A. Le Coq finished the 2003–04 season in third place. After the season, the club dissolved due to financial and ownership struggles. In 2004, Dorbek joined Tallinna Kalev. The team finished the 2004–05 season in third place. Dorbek averaged 16.11 points per game and was named KML Best Young Player. After the season, Kalev too was hit by financial problems and dissolved. BC Kalev, known as BC Kalev/Cramo for sponsorship reasons, is a professional basketball club based in Tallinn, Estonia.
