Martin Davis (Jamaican Footballer)
Martin Davis (born 11 October 1996) is a Jamaican footballer who currently plays for Gżira United F.C. in the Maltese Premier League. Career College and amateur Davis joined Harbour View aged 12, and a year later was awarded a summer scholarship with Spanish club Valencia following his performances at the Nexter Generation Valencia CF Easter Football Camp in Jamaica. He had a two-year orientation with the European club, and it was there he was converted from a forward into a midfielder. He represented Harbour View in both Junior and Premier Leagues, as well as the Manning Cup at St. George's College during high school. However, he was forced to miss the entire 2014 season due to injury. He also played for Caxton College and Sagunto FC during his youth career. A midfielder is an outfield position in association football. Midfielders may play an exclusively defensive role, breaking up attacks, and are in that case known as defensive midfielders. 2015 USL Season
The 2015 USL season was the fifth season of the United Soccer League (USL) and the first under its new name (previously the league was called USL Pro). This season represented a substantial expansion from 14 teams in 2014 to 24 teams in 2015, and the division of the league into two conferences. It is also the 29th season of third-division soccer in the United States. Seven Major League Soccer clubs created reserve franchises in the USL for the 2015 season, following the lead of the LA Galaxy, who had done so in 2014: FC Montreal, New York Red Bulls II, Portland Timbers 2, Real Monarchs, Seattle Sounders FC 2, Toronto FC II, and Vancouver Whitecaps FC 2. Major League Soccer (MLS) is a men's professional soccer league sanctioned by the United States Soccer Federation, which represents the sport's highest level in the United States. The Jamaica national football team, nicknamed the "Reggae Boyz", represents Jamaica in international football. The team's first match was against Haiti in 1925. The CONCACAF Under-20 Championship is the second longest running international association football event in the North America, Central America and the Caribbean region, CONCACAF, and is the qualification tournament for the FIFA U-20 World Cup. The format of the tournament has undergone changes over the years.
