Martin Borg
Martin Borg (born 21 February 1977) is a Swedish former professional basketball player who played as a point guard. Best remembered for his time with the Solna Vikings, he was considered a three-point specialist and helped the team win the 2002–03 Swedish Basketball League. A full international between 1998 and 1999, he appeared 11 times for the Sweden national basketball team. Swedish Basketball League
Svenska Basketligan, or the Swedish Basketball League (SBL), is the premier league for professional basketball in Sweden. The league was originally established in 1992 as Basketligan and was known as that prior to the season of 2006–07, but when the Swedish company Obol Investment signed an agreement with the Swedish Basketball Federation in early October 2006, the league was renamed Obol Basketball League (OBL). In January 2007 the name was changed to Ligan, meaning simply the League. History On October 6, 2006, the Swedish Basketball Federation signed a 15-year agreement with Swiss company Obol Investment. Part of the deal was that ''Basketligan'' would be renamed ''Obol Basketball League''. Other parts of the deal include that the winning team would receive prize money if the team were to play in the EuroLeague during the following season. Point Guard
The point guard (PG), also called the one or the point, is one of the five Basketball positions, positions in a regulation basketball game. A point guard has perhaps the most specialized role of any position. Point guards are expected to run the team's offense by controlling the ball and making sure that it gets to the right player at the right time. Above all, the point guard must understand and accept their coach's game plan; in this way, the position can be compared to a quarterback in American football. Solna Vikings
Solna Vikings was a Swedish professional basketball club with a men's team and a women's team. Both played in their respective top leagues: the women in the Damligan, and the men in the Swedish Basketball League. History The Solna Vikings was founded on 27 April 1999, when Solna IF announced that it would not continue playing. Solna Vikings Men won the Swedish men's national championship in 2003, and the women won the national championship in 2002, 2004 and 2006. On 6 July 2015 it was announced that the men's team was leaving the Swedish Basketball League because of economic problems. In June 2016, the club merged with AIK Basket. The Sweden men's national basketball team ( sv, svenska basketslandslaget) represents Sweden in international basketball competition.
