Martha Nichols
Martha Nichols (born 1987) is an American choreographer, dancer, and actress. She took first place in the Capezio A.C.E. Awards in 2016 for her work ''Tilted''. Early life Nichols was born on , the daughter of Mary Jane Nichols. They lived in Brooklyn, NY, and moved to Raleigh, NC when Martha was eight years old. Moved from Brooklyn NY to North Carolina when she was eight years old. Martha studied dance under Christy Curtis at the Pierrette Sadler Danceurs Studio in Raleigh, and later at Curtis's own CC & Company Dance Complex. Nichols mother, Mary Jane, died of a heart attack on June 1, 2005, shortly after Martha graduated from Millbrook High School. She moved in with family friends after her mother's death. At the age of eighteen, she was a guest teacher, performer and choreographer at the Burlington Academy of Dance & Arts in Burlington, NC. Capezio
Capezio is the trade name of Capezio Ballet Makers Inc., an American manufacturer of dance shoes, apparel and accessories. History In 1887, Salvatore Capezio, an Italian cobbler emigrated to the United States, opened a shoe repair shop near the old Metropolitan Opera House in New York City. He began his business by repairing theatrical shoes for the Met, and transitioned from cobbler to shoemaker when he created pair of shoes for Polish tenor Jean de Reszke in an emergency. His shop soon became a meeting place for dancers who would stop by to discuss their needs and purchase his shoes. Over time, his reputation grew and visiting dancers would often come to his shop to purchase shoes. One of those visitors, Anna Pavlova, purchased Capezio pointe shoes for herself and her entire company during her first tour of the United States in 1910, thereby helping Capezio establish wide public visibility. This is a list of contestants who have appeared on the American television program '' So You Think You Can Dance'' and progressed to the live performance show stage of the competition. Contestants All-Stars Dance Pool The "All-Stars" dance pool, introduced in season 7, is composed of notable past ''SYTYCD'' finalists who partner with new contestants for some of their routines. These non-competing dancers perform mainly in the genres that are their expertise and may perform only once or several times over the course of a season. With the exception of one season 10 episode, they do not choreograph these routines but rather learn them alongside their contestant partners.
