Martes Y Trece (film)
Martes y Trece were a trio (and later, duo) of Spanish comedians whose members were Josema Yuste, Millán Salcedo and Fernando Conde. Their style was characterized by grotesque gags on everyday life and caricatures of famous people. The trio made their first television appearance in 1978 on a program by José María Íñigo, and due to their success they repeated four times. Fernando Conde left the group in 1985 to dedicate himself to the theater, but Josema Yuste and Millán Salcedo continued to act together until 1997. Origins Millán and Conde met in the military service in Santander (Cantabria), where they already played brief "performances" among peers. Subsequently, they met Yuste at the School of Dramatic Arts in Madrid and they came with the idea to form a comedy group. Encarna Sánchez
Encarna Sánchez (September 19, 1935 – April 5, 1996) was an influential Spanish talk radio host and current events commentator. Generally viewed as a conservative, her views were of great influence on working, middle classes and ruling Governments in Spain at that time. She was well known for her coverage of political scandals, such as those surrounding the collapse of Felipe González's government in 1996. She won three Ondas Awards, an annual recognition given in Spain to major media personalities and shows. Nevertheless, her show was not explicitly political, and concerned itself with general issues relevant to the Spanish public. The Puerta del Sol (English: "Gate of the Sun") is a public square in Madrid, one of the best known and busiest places in the city. This is the centre ('' Km 0'') of the radial network of Spanish roads. Twelve Grapes
The Twelve Grapes ( Sp. , "the twelve grapes of luck") is a Spanish tradition that consists of eating a grape with each of the twelve clock bell strikes at midnight of December 31 to welcome the New Year. Each grape and clock bell strike represents each of the coming twelve months. This tradition dates back from at least 1895 but was consolidated among the population in 1909. In December of that year, some Alicantese vine growers spread this custom to better sell huge numbers of grapes from an excellent harvest. According to the tradition, eating the Twelve Grapes leads to a year of good luck and prosperity. In some areas, this practice was also believed to ward off witches and evil in general, although today it is mostly followed as a tradition to celebrate and welcome the New Year. Móstoles
Móstoles () is a municipality of Spain located in the Community of Madrid. With over 200,000 inhabitants, it is the region's second most populated municipality after Madrid.
