Marta Rovira
Marta Rovira i Vergés (born 25 January 1977, in Vic) is a Spanish lawyer and politician. She is the General Secretary of Republican Left of Catalonia since 2011 and she lives in Geneva, Switzerland, since March 2018. Biografy Some of her ancestors were involved in local politics. Her maternal grandfather, Francesc Vergés Ordeig, was the mayor of Sant Pere de Torelló between 1956 and 1965.One of her great-grandfathers on her father's side, Jaume Rivera Camps, was the mayor of Prats de Lluçanès between 1939 and 1941. Rovira holds a degree in Law from Pompeu Fabra University and in Political sciences and Public administration from the Open University of Catalonia. She has worked as a lawyer, has been a professor of Administrative Law at the Escola de Policia de Catalunya (2003–2007), and the head of the Support Services of the Catalan Agency for Development Cooperation (2007–2011). Parliament Of Catalonia
The Parliament of Catalonia ( ca, Parlament de Catalunya, ; es, Parlamento de Cataluña; oc, Parlament de Catalonha) is the unicameral legislature of the autonomous community of Catalonia, Spain. The Parliament is currently made up of 135 members, known as deputies (''diputats''/''deputats''/''diputados''), who are elected for four-year terms or after extraordinary dissolution, chosen by universal suffrage in lists of four constituencies, corresponding to the Catalan provinces. Castell
A ''castell'' () is a human tower built traditionally at festivals in Catalonia, the Balearic islands and the Valencian Community. At these festivals, several ''colles castelleres'' (teams that build towers) attempt to build and dismantle a tower's structure. On 16 November 2010, ''castells'' were declared by UNESCO to be amongst the Masterpieces of the Oral and Intangible Heritage of Humanity. Origin Although based on the earlier traditional Muixeranga of Algemesí in Valencia, the tradition of ''castells'' within Catalonia originated in the ''Ball dels Valencians'' (Valencian Dance) in Valls, near the city of Tarragona, first documented in 1712. Social justice is justice in terms of the distribution of wealth, opportunities, and privileges within a society. 2017 Catalan Regional Election
The 2017 Catalan regional election was held on Thursday, 21 December 2017 to elect the 12th Parliament of the autonomous community of Catalonia. All 135 seats in the Parliament were up for election. Junts pel Sí (; en, "Together for Yes", sometimes translated as "Together for the Yes"; JxSí) was a Catalan electoral, political and parliamentary alliance focused on achieving the independence of Catalonia from Spain. The 2012 Catalan regional election was held on Sunday, 25 November 2012, to elect the 10th Parliament of the autonomous community of Catalonia. All 135 seats in the Parliament were up for election. Oriol Junqueras
Oriol Junqueras i Vies (; born 11 April 1969) is a Catalan politician and historian from Spain. A former mayor of the municipality of Sant Vicenç dels Horts in Catalonia, Junqueras served as Vice President of Catalonia from January 2016 to October 2017 when he was removed from office following the Catalan declaration of independence and entered prison until June 2021, for his role in organizing the 2017 Catalan independence referendum.
