Marsu Productions
Marsu Productions, or simply Marsu, is a publishing house and licensing and merchandising company located in Monaco, managing Franco-Belgian comics characters and copyright concerns, chiefly from the comics universe of André Franquin. The name Marsu refers to one of Franquin's best known characters the Marsupilami, but the company also handles the character universes of ''Gaston Lagaffe'', ''Le Petit Noël'', ''Les Monstres'', as well as François Walthéry's '' Natacha'' and ''Le P'tit bout d'chique'', and ''Léonid et Spoutnika'' by Yann and Philippe Bercovici among others. Franquin, who had previously worked for the publishing house Dupuis, decided to leave his company and start his own in 1987. Greg (comics)
Michel Régnier (5 May 1931 – 29 October 1999), best known by his pseudonym Greg, was a Belgian cartoonist best known for ''Achille Talon'', and later became editor of ''Tintin'' magazine. Biography Regnier was born in Ixelles, Belgium in 1931. His first series, ''Les Aventures de Nestor et Boniface'', appeared in the Belgian magazine '' Vers l'Avenir'' when he was sixteen. He moved to the comic magazine ''Héroic Albums'', going on to work for the Franco-Belgian comics magazine '' Spirou'' in 1954. Batem
Luc Collin, best known by the pen name Batem (born 6 April 1960 in Kamina, Belgian Congo) is a Belgium, Belgian comics artist best known as the artist successor of André Franquin of the series ''Marsupilami''. Biography Collin started his career in the studio of colorist Vittorio Leonardo, and at S.E.P.P. (''Société d'Edition, de Presse et de Publicité''), a subsidiary company of Dupuis that specialised on audiovisual adaptations of the characters that are the property of ''Spirou (magazine), Spirou'' magazine. Collin worked on several merchandising projects involving ''Shoe'', the ''Snorky'' and the ''Marsupilami''. In 1987 Franquin asked him to do the artwork of ''Marsupilami''. He has illustrated stories of the series since, starting with ''La Queue du Marsupilami'' (1987), initially working with Franquin himself and several writers, such as Greg, Yann, Fauche, Éric Adam and Dugomier. ''La queue du Marsupilami'', written by Greg and drawn by Franquin and his collaborator Batem, is a comic album relating the adventures of the fictional character Marsupilami. This album is the number 1 in the series of Marsupilami albums, published by Marsu Productions. History With the album ''La queue du Marsupilami'', a new series is launched by Franquin entirely dedicated to the adventures of Marsupilami, who only appeared as a secondary character in the Spirou and Fantasio comics series. Philippe Bercovici is a French comics artist of Franco-Belgian comics. Having illustrated a wide range of series, Bercovici is perhaps most known for ''Les Femmes en Blanc'' written by Cauvin, started in 1981. François Walthéry (born 17 January 1946 in Argenteau near Liège) is a Belgian comics artist, best known for his series featuring an adventurous flight attendant, '' Natacha''. Biography Walthéry began his career in 1962 during studies at the Institut Saint-Luc in Liège, when he collaborated with scenario writer Mittéï to create his first comic, ''Pipo''. The following year, Walthéry started working for Peyo, assisting on ''The Smurfs'', '' Johan et Pirlouit'' and ''Benoît Brisefer''. Eventually he assumed creative responsibility of the series ''Jacky et Célestin'', taking over from Will.
