Nanango is an electoral division in the state of Queensland, Australia. Notable towns include Nanango, Kingaroy and Crows Nest. It has existed twice. It was first created in 1912, and was replaced by Barambah in 1950. It was recreated in 2001, as a replacement for Barambah. Nanango was the original seat of Sir Joh Bjelke-Petersen (from 1947 to 1950). Mondure is a rural town and locality in the South Burnett Region, Queensland, Australia. In the , Mondure had a population of 100 people. History The town takes its name from the Mondrure pastoral run taken up in 1844 by Richard Jones, which used a Waka language word, ''mondhur'' meaning ''small ant''. Land was open for selection on 17 April 1877; were available in Mondure and in Mondure back run. Circa 1900s, 78 farming blocks in the Mondure Estate were advertised to be sold. The map advertisement states that the blocks were 6 miles from Wondai railway station and 4 miles from Murgon railway station. Mondure North Provisional School opened in January 1905. The South Burnett Region is a local government area in the South Burnett district of Queensland, Australia. Origins This Local Government was created in March 2008 as a result of the report of the Local Government Reform Commission released in July 2007. Prior to the 2008 amalgamation, the South Burnett Region, located in the southern catchment of the Burnett River, existed as four distinct local government areas: * the Shire of Kingaroy; * the Shire of Nanango; * the Shire of Murgon; * and the Shire of Wondai. The report recommended the new local government area should not be divided into wards and should elect six councilors and a mayor however the Interim Steering Committee applied to the State Government for four wards based on the old shire boundaries.
