Marshall Township is one of the seventeen townships of Highland County, Ohio, United States. As of the 2020 census the population was 1,007. Geography Located in the southeastern part of the county, it borders the following townships: * Paint Township - north * Brushcreek Township - east * Jackson Township - south * Washington Township - west * Liberty Township - northwest No municipalities are located in Marshall Township, although the unincorporated community of Marshall lies in the township's center. The Geographic Names Information System (GNIS) is a database of name and locative information about more than two million physical and cultural features throughout the United States and its territories, Antarctica, and the associated states of the Marshall Islands, Federated States of Micronesia, and Palau. It is a type of gazetteer. It was developed by the United States Geological Survey (USGS) in cooperation with the United States Board on Geographic Names (BGN) to promote the standardization of feature names. Marshall is an unincorporated community in central Marshall Township, Highland County, Ohio, United States. It lies at the intersection of State Routes 124 and 506. Rocky Fork Lake, the site of Rocky Fork State Park, is located 2 miles (3 km) to the north. It lies 7 miles (11 km) east-southeast of the city of Hillsboro, the county seat of Highland County. An early variant name was West Liberty. The Marshall High School Red Flashes were the Class B State Basketball Champions in 1928. As a result, the gymnasium at the former high/elementary school was constructed in 1931.
