Marry In Haste
''Marry in Haste'' is a 1924 American silent comedy drama film directed by Duke Worne and starring William Fairbanks, Dorothy Revier, and Alfred Hollingsworth.Munden p. 496 Plot As described in a film magazine review, Wayne Sturgis of Wyoming while visiting New York City meets and weds Joan Prescott, a Greenwich Village art student making a living by modeling. His wealthy father disowns him as a result of the marriage. They live on a small farm where the hard work brings disillusionment, unhappiness, and ill health to Joan. Trouble also arises due to the attentions paid to the young wife by a neighbor, Monte Brett. Wayne desperately struggles to make good and wins some much needed money by staying three rounds with a champion pugilist. Brett attempts to make love to Joan but is repulsed by her. Duke Worne
Howard "Duke" Worne (December 14, 1888 – October 13, 1933) was an American film director, director and actor of the silent film, silent era. He directed more than 70 films between 1919 and 1931. He also appeared in 27 films between 1914 and 1928. He was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and died in Los Angeles, California. In 1930, Worne married silent film actress Virginia Brown Faire, to whom he remained married until his death three years later in 1933. Gladden James
Gladden James (February 26, 1888 – August 28, 1948) was an American film actor. He appeared in more than 180 films between 1911 and 1946. He was born in Zanesville, Ohio and died in Hollywood, California, from leukemia. Family In 1914 he married Julia Nagl, a 1911 Phi Beta Kappa graduate of the University of Nebraska and later a Broadway actress who he appeared with in Officer 666, in Texas while on a picture taking assignment with the US government. Al Kaufman (6 January 1886 – 7 April 1957) was an American boxer and film actor. Biography Kaufman, born on September 25, 1888 in North Dakota, was a heavyweight boxer and one of the " White Hopes" of the era when Jack Johnson, an African American, was the world heavyweight champion. The 6′1″ Kaufman, a German-American, fought out of his hometown of San Francisco, California at a weight of between 185 and 205 lbs. in a career that stretched from 1905 to 1915. He was a muscular boxer, who fought cautiously but who could punch hard. Kaufman fought Johnson for the world heavyweight title. Before that bout, Johnson had attended a match between Kaufman and Tony Ross held at the Fairmont Athletic Club in The Bronx on April 13, 1909.
