Marriages (band)
Marriages was an American rock music, rock band from Los Angeles, California that formed in 2011. The band's final lineup consisted of vocalist and guitarist Emma Ruth Rundle, bassist Greg Burns and drummer Drab Majesty, Andrew Clinco. The band has been inactive since 2015, and Rundle said in 2021 that the band was not planning on releasing new material. Since then, Rundle has put out multiple solo albums while Clinco has continued with his project Drab Majesty. History Following the hiatus of Red Sparowes, two members of that band, Emma Ruth Rundle (also formerly of the Nocturnes) and Greg Burns (ex-Halifax Pier), formed Marriages. Post-rock
Post-rock is a form of experimental rock characterized by a focus on exploring textures and timbre over traditional rock song structures, chords, or riffs. Post-rock artists are often instrumental, typically combining rock instrumentation with electronics. The genre emerged within the indie and underground music scene of the 1980s and early 1990s. However, due to its abandonment of rock conventions, it often bears little resemblance musically to contemporary indie rock, borrowing instead from diverse sources including ambient, electronica, jazz, krautrock, dub, and minimalist classical. Artists such as Talk Talk and Slint have been credited with producing foundational works in the style in the early 1990s. Bass Guitar
The bass guitar, electric bass or simply bass (), is the lowest-pitched member of the string family. It is a plucked string instrument similar in appearance and construction to an electric or an acoustic guitar, but with a longer neck and scale length, and typically four to six strings or courses. Singing is the act of creating musical sounds with the voice. A person who sings is called a singer, artist or vocalist (in jazz and/or popular music). Electric Guitar
An electric guitar is a guitar that requires external amplification in order to be heard at typical performance volumes, unlike a standard acoustic guitar (however combinations of the two - a semi-acoustic guitar and an electric acoustic guitar exist). It uses one or more pickups to convert the vibration of its strings into electrical signals, which ultimately are reproduced as sound by loudspeakers. Wovenhand (also stylized Woven Hand) is an American rock band from Denver, Colorado, United States, led by former 16 Horsepower frontman David Eugene Edwards.
