Marquis Hainse
Lieutenant General Marquis Hainse CMM, MSC, CD is a Canadian Army officer who served as Chief of the Army Staff and Commander of the Canadian Army. Military career Hainse joined the Canadian Forces in 1977 and was commissioned into the Royal 22e Régiment in 1980. He was deployed during the Oka Crisis in 1990 and again during the North American Ice Storm of 1998. He became Commanding Officer of 1st Battalion Royal 22e Régiment at Port-au-Prince in Haiti in 1996, Chief of Staff of Land Force Quebec Area in 2001 and Commander of the Bosnia and Herzegovina Task Force in April 2002. Lieutenant-general (LGen; ) is a Canadian Forces rank used by commissioned officers of the Canadian Army or Royal Canadian Air Force. Vice-admiral is the equivalent rank in the Royal Canadian Navy. National Defence Headquarters (NDHQ) ( French: ''Quartiers généraux de la Défense nationale'' (''QGDN'')) was created through the integration of Canadian Armed Forces Headquarters (CAF HQ) with the civilian Department of National Defence (DND) staff in October of 1972. Peter Devlin (general)
Lieutenant General Peter John Devlin was a senior officer in the Canadian Army and is currently President of Fanshawe College. He served as Commander of the Canadian Army from 2010 to 2013. Military career Educated at the University of Western Ontario, Devlin was commissioned into The Royal Canadian Regiment, having joined the Canadian Forces in 1978. Devlin served in an operational role in Cyprus between 1984 and 1985 and in the Former Yugoslavia in 1992, 1996 and 1998.
