Marques McFadden
Marques Arthur McFadden (born September 12, 1978) is a former American football offensive guard in the National Football League for the Atlanta Falcons and Dallas Cowboys. He also was a member of the BC Lions in the Canadian Football League. He played college football at the University of Arizona. Early years McFadden attended Capital High School, where he practiced football and baseball. He received second-team All-state and All-conference honors as a senior. He accepted a football scholarship from the University of Arizona. He missed the 1997 season due to academic issues. He became a starter at right guard as a junior, helping running back Trung Canidate rush for 1,643 yards on 253 carries (6.3-yard avg.). Guard (American Football)
In gridiron football, a guard (G), otherwise known as an offensive guard (OG), is a player who lines up between the center and the tackles on the offensive line of a football team on the line of scrimmage used primarily for blocking. Right guards (RG) is the term for the guards on the right of the offensive line, while left guards (LG) are on the left side. Guards are to the right or left of the center. The guard's job is to protect the quarterback from the incoming linemen during pass plays, as well as creating openings (holes) for the running backs to head through. Practice Squad
In sports, the practice squad, also called the taxi squad or practice roster, is a group of players signed by a team but not part of their main roster. Frequently used in gridiron football, they serve as extra players during the team's practices, often as part of the scout team by emulating an upcoming opponent's play style. Because the players on the practice squad are familiar with the team's plays and formations, the practice squad serves as a way to develop inexperienced players for promotion to the main roster. Kevin Daft
Kevin Daft (born November 19, 1975) is an American football coach and former professional quarterback. He is currently the offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach at Dartmouth College. He was drafted by the Tennessee Titans in the fifth round of the 1999 NFL Draft. He played college football at UC Davis. Daft was also a member of the Scottish Claymores, San Diego Chargers, Atlanta Falcons, San Francisco 49ers, Amsterdam Admirals, San Jose SaberCats and Indiana Firebirds. 2002 NFL Season
The 2002 NFL season was the 83rd regular season of the National Football League. The league went back to an even number of teams with the addition of the Houston Texans; the league has remained static with 32 teams since. The clubs were realigned into eight divisions, four teams in each. Also, the Chicago Bears played their home games in 2002 in Champaign, Illinois at Memorial Stadium because of the reconstruction of Soldier Field. The 2001 NFL Draft was the 66th annual meeting of National Football League (NFL) franchises to select newly eligible professional football players. The draft, which is officially referred to as the "NFL Player Selection Meeting," was held at the Theater at Madison Square Garden in New York City, New York on April 21–22, 2001. Right Tackle
Tackle is a playing position in gridiron football. Historically, in the one-platoon system prevalent in the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries, a tackle played on both offense and defense. In the modern system of specialized units, offensive tackle and defensive tackle are separate positions, and the stand-alone term "tackle" refers to the offensive tackle position only.
