James Maroni
James Maroni (15 June 1873 – 12 July 1957) was a Norwegian theologian and priest in the Church of Norway. From 1930 until 1947 he served as the Bishop of the Norwegian Diocese of Agder. Personal life James Maroni was born on 15 June 1873 in Kristiansand in Vest-Agder county in southern Norway. His parents were shipbuilder Nikolai Ambrosius Maroni and his wife Maria Catharina Weisser. He was married to Wilhelmine (“Willik”) Margrethe Bang in 1904 in Drammen, Norway. Maroni's father is descended from an ancient Italian family from Florence who had immigrated to Norway in the 18th century. His mother came from a family that was originally from Holstein (now in Germany). Career Maroni was educated at the cathedral school in Kristiansand, finishing his examen artium in 1894. Pablo Maroni (Paul; born 1 November 1695) was a Jesuit missionary to the Viceroyalty of Peru. Life He entered the Austrian province of the Jesuits on 27 October 1712, and, like many German and Austrian missionaries of that time, went in 1723 on the mission in Upper Marañón that belonged to the Audience of Quito, province of the order. He worked for several years as professor of theology at Quito and then with great success as Indian missionary on the rivers Napo and Aguarico. Roberto Ernesto Maroni (; 15 March 1955 – 22 November 2022) was an Italian politician from Varese and a past President of Lombardy. He was the leader of the Northern League, a party seeking autonomy or independence for Northern Italy or Padania. From 1992 to 2013 he was a Member of the Chamber of Deputies of the Italian Republic, always elected in Lombard constituencies. He was Interior Minister of the Italian Republic from 1994 to 1995, and from 2008 to 2011.
