Cade Marlowe
Cade Matthew Marlowe (born June 24, 1997) is an American professional baseball outfielder for the Seattle Mariners of Major League Baseball (MLB). Amateur career Marlowe attended Tiftarea Academy in Chula, Georgia, where he played baseball and batted .515 with 12 home runs, 35 RBIs, and 34 stolen bases as a senior in 2015. He went undrafted out of high school, and fulfilled his commitment to play college baseball at the University of West Georgia. During the summer of 2018, he played in the Coastal Plain League for the Savannah Bananas. As a senior in 2019, he batted .389 with five home runs and 39 RBIs while setting a single season school record with 46 stolen bases. After the season, he was selected by the Seattle Mariners in the 20th round of the 2019 Major League Baseball draft. Christopher Marlowe, also known as Kit Marlowe (; baptised 26 February 156430 May 1593), was an English playwright, poet and translator of the Elizabethan era. Pat Marlowe (socialite)
Pat Marlowe (1933 – 6 August 1962) was an English socialite, party hostess and actress who found minor fame in the 1950s and early 1960s. Her tragic death by suicide aged 28 in 1962, shortly after the death of Marilyn Monroe, caused reflection on the harsh reality of life for apparently glamorous young women striving for success in showbusiness. Early life and career Anita Sonia Patricia Wimble was born in late 1933 in Chatham, Kent to Norah and Albert Wimble, a taxi hire proprietor. Philip Marlowe () is a fictional character created by Raymond Chandler, who was characteristic of the hardboiled crime fiction genre. The hardboiled crime fiction genre originated in the 1920s, notably in ''Black Mask'' magazine, in which Dashiell Hammett's The Continental Op and Sam Spade first appeared. Marlowe first appeared under that name in ''The Big Sleep'', published in 1939. Chandler's early short story, short stories, published in pulp magazines such as ''Black Mask (magazine), Black Mask'' and ''Dime Detective'', featured similar characters with names like "Carmady" and "John Dalmas", starting in 1933. The Marlowe Theatre is a 1,200-seat theatre in Canterbury named after playwright Christopher Marlowe, who was born and attended school in the city. It was named a Stage Awards, 2022 UK Theatre of the Year. The Marlowe Trust, a not for profit company and registered charity, operates the theatre. History First building A theatre opened on St Margaret's Street, Canterbury shortly before World War I but was converted to the Central Picture Cinema in the 1920s. Marlowe Consolidated School
Marlowe Elementary School was built in 1922 as an eight-room school to serve grades 1 through 8 in Marlowe, West Virginia. The new school allowed a number of one-room schools in the area to be closed. The Marlowe School is a two-story brick building on a concrete base. As originally built there were four rooms on each of the two main levels, with a cafeteria and mechanical rooms in the basement. Each classroom was provided with a coatroom. Windows were concentrated on the front and rear of the building with sparsely fenestrated ends. A central stairway serves all levels. The classrooms retain their original wood wainscoting and much of their original character. One story additions have been added to the rear from the 1970s on. The building presently serves grades K through 3 as a primary school. Despite a claim in the ''Playbill'' that "the story of this drama is essentially true and accurate," much of it is a fictionalized account of the life of Elizabethan playwright Christopher Marlowe.
