Marks To Prove It
''Marks to Prove It'' is the fourth and final studio album released by the English band The Maccabees released on 31 July 2015 through Fiction Records. Upon release, it reached number one in the UK Album chart. In North America a digital version was made available through Communion Records with a physical release to follow at a later date. The album was recorded in the band's studio in Elephant and Castle and pays tribute to the area, including the album cover being of the Michael Faraday Memorial that is near the studio. Geraint Watkins
Geraint Meurig Vaughan Watkins (born 5 February 1951) is a Welsh singer, songwriter, rock and roll pianist and accordionist. He has backed many notable artists, including Nick Lowe, Dave Edmunds, Van Morrison, Mark Knopfler, Paul McCartney, Roy St. John, Shakin' Stevens and most recently Status Quo. He has also pursued a solo career and issued a number of albums under his own name, the most recent of which, ''Rush of Blood'', was released in September 2019. Vincenzo Capellini Townshend (born 28 October 1963) is an English record producer, mixer, and audio engineer, and has worked with artists and bands including the Rolling Stones, a-ha, Kaiser Chiefs, U2, Snow Patrol, Florence and the Machine, Friendly Fires, Bloc Party, Franz Ferdinand, the Maccabees, Jamie Cullum and Thirty Seconds to Mars. Felix Andrew Odell White (born 28 September 1984) is a British musician, best known as the guitarist of the British indie rock band The Maccabees. He is also co-presenter on the cricket podcast '' Tailenders'' alongside Greg James, James Anderson and Mattchin Tendulkar. Biography Early life White was born in Wandsworth, London, England. Michael Faraday Memorial
The Michael Faraday Memorial is a monument to the Victorian scientist Michael Faraday. It is located at Elephant Square in Elephant and Castle, London, England. Description The stainless steel box-shaped structure was designed by modern movement architect Rodney Gordon in 1959 and built in 1961, on the centre of what was the northern roundabout of the Elephant and Castle gyratory system. It commemorates Michael Faraday's importance as a scientist and was placed at Elephant and Castle because Faraday's birthplace is nearby in Newington Butts. The interior of the construction contains a London Underground electrical substation for the Northern line and Bakerloo line (somewhat appropriate for a memorial to one of the great pioneers of electricity). Elephant And Castle
The Elephant and Castle is an area around a major road junction in London, England, in the London Borough of Southwark. The name also informally refers to much of Walworth and Newington, due to the proximity of the London Underground station of the same name. The name is derived from a local coaching inn. ''Drowned in Sound'', sometimes abbreviated to ''DiS'', is a UK-based music webzine financed by artist management company Silentway. Founded by editor Sean Adams, the site features reviews, news, interviews, and discussion forums.
