Felix White
Felix Andrew Odell White (born 28 September 1984) is a British musician, best known as the guitarist of the British indie rock band The Maccabees. He is also co-presenter on the cricket podcast '' Tailenders'' alongside Greg James, James Anderson and Mattchin Tendulkar. Biography Early life White was born in Wandsworth, London, England. His mother, Lana White, was an editor in the publishing industry, and his father was involved in urban design. His mother suffered from multiple sclerosis and died in 2002, when White was 17. He was educated at Alleyn's School and studied Sociology at the University of Sussex. White has two younger brothers - Hugo and Will. His mother and grandmother were Palestinian. Wandsworth Town () is a district of south London, within the London Borough of Wandsworth southwest of Charing Cross. ''Marks to Prove It'' is the fourth and final studio album released by the English band The Maccabees released on 31 July 2015 through Fiction Records. Upon release, it reached number one in the UK Album chart. In North America a digital version was made available through Communion Records with a physical release to follow at a later date. The album was first released in the United Kingdom on 9 January 2012, where it debuted at number four on the UK Albums Chart and number thirty-one on the Irish Albums Chart. The album has seen four single releases: " Pelican" (released on 30 December 2011), "Feel to Follow" (4 March 2012), "Went Away" (28 May 2012), and "Ayla" (10 September 2012). Reception Metacritic has calculated a Metascore of 69 out of 100 for the album, based on 20 reviews, giving the album "generally favourable reviews". NME gave the album a 9/10. The LP was produced by Markus Dravs, who has collaborated with Björk, Arcade Fire and Coldplay in the past. ''Wall of Arms'' was also worked on in various cities including Liverpool and Paris, unlike their first long-player which was recorded in "dribs and drabs" according to frontman Orlando Weeks. The 2017–18 Ashes series (named Magellan Ashes Series for sponsorship reasons) was a series of Test cricket matches contested between England and Australia for The Ashes. Tailenders (also known as Trailfinders) is a podcast and sometime BBC radio show which is nominally centered around the world of cricket. The show is presented by BBC Radio 1 DJ Greg James with ex-Maccabees guitarist Felix White and England international cricketer James Anderson. After its hundredth episode Esquire magazine called it “a phenomenon”, and it has also been labelled “one of the most successful in the country”, and “funny and entertaining” by The Guardian. It has been named in the podcasts of the week by The Week, and The Radio Times, as well as recommended in the i (newspaper), and Time Out.
