Mark Walen
Mark Hartley Walen (born March 10, 1963) is a former American football defensive tackle in the National Football League for the Dallas Cowboys. He played college football at UCLA. Early years Walen attended Burlingame High School (California), Burlingame High School, where he began playing football until his junior year. As a senior, he received All-county honors. He also Letterman (sports), lettered in basketball and soccer. In 2005, he was inducted into the San Mateo County Sports Hall of Fame. College career Walen accepted a football scholarship from UCLA. As a freshman, he started 2 games against the University of Oregon and USC Trojans, USC. He also contributed to the 24-14 victory against the University of Michigan in the 1983 Rose Bowl. As a sophomore, he was lost for the season, after tearing ligaments in his left knee during the third game against the University of Nebraska–Lincoln, University of Nebraska. Defensive Tackle
A defensive tackle (DT) is a position in American football that will typically line up on the line of scrimmage, opposite one of the offensive guards, however he may also line up opposite one of the tackles. Defensive tackles are typically the largest and strongest of the defensive players. Depending on a team's individual defensive scheme, a defensive tackle may be called upon to fill several different roles. These roles may include merely holding the point of attack by refusing to be moved, or penetrating a certain gap between offensive linemen to break up a play in the opponent's backfield. If a defensive tackle reads a pass play, his primary responsibility is to pursue the quarterback, or simply knock the pass down at the line if it is within arm's reach. Kevin Brooks (American Football)
Kevin Craig Brooks (born February 9, 1963) is a former American football defensive tackle in the National Football League (NFL) for the Dallas Cowboys and Detroit Lions. He was selected by the Dallas Cowboys in the first round (17th overall pick) of the 1985 NFL Draft. He played college football at the University of Michigan. The 1986 NFL draft was the procedure by which National Football League teams selected amateur college football players. It is officially known as the NFL Annual Player Selection Meeting. The draft was held April 29–30, 1986, at the Marriott Marquis in New York City, New York. The league also held a supplemental draft after the regular draft and before the regular season. James McArthur Washington (born January 10, 1965) is a former American football safety in the National Football League (NFL) for the Los Angeles Rams, Dallas Cowboys and the Washington Redskins. With the Cowboys, he won back-to-back titles in Super Bowl XXVII and Super Bowl XXVIII, both against the Buffalo Bills. He played college football for the UCLA Bruins. Carnell Augustino Lake (born July 15, 1967) is an American former professional football player and coach who is the defensive backs coach for the Tampa Bay Bandits of the United States Football League (USFL). He was a safety and cornerback in the National Football League (NFL). He is a member of the NFL 1990s All-Decade Team. Kenneth Howard Norton Jr. (born September 29, 1966) is an American football coach and former linebacker who most recently served as the defensive coordinator for the Seattle Seahawks of the National Football League (NFL) from 2018 to 2021. He is the son of Ken Norton, former world champion heavyweight boxer.
