Mark Van Drumpt
Mark van Drumpt (died 18 February 2021) served as lead physiotherapist for the Limerick county hurling team during its 2018 and 2020 All-Ireland Senior Hurling Championship winning campaigns. He was also involved in a similar capacity with the rugby union team Garryowen Football Club. Van Drumpt practised at Dooradoyle Physiotherapy Clinic and was a registered member of the Irish Society of Chartered Physiotherapists. Van Drumpt was involved with Limerick GAA teams for more than a decade and a half. He worked with county minor and under-21 hurling teams that won two All-Ireland Under-21 Hurling Championships, three Munster Under-21 Hurling Championships, four Munster Minor Hurling Championships and made two All-Ireland Minor Hurling Championship final appearances, and was also lead physiotherapist with the Limerick county football team when that team advanced to three finals of the Munster Senior Football Championship and two finals of the National Football League. All Stars Hurler Of The Year
The GAA–GPA All-Star Hurler of the Year is a hurling award presented to the player voted as best in the country by all the players from around Ireland. It began in 1995 and honours the achievements of a hurler of outstanding excellence. Kilkenny players have won the award 10 out of 28 times, ahead of Limerick with four wins. Tipperary, Cork, Waterford and Clare have won it three times each. The award's youngest winner was Tony Kelly, who won at the age of 19 in 2013. Henry Shefflin and Cian Lynch are the only players to have won the award more than once. The oldest winner is also Henry Shefflin, who was 33 when he won in 2012. Gearóid M. Hegarty (born 10 August 1994) is an Irish hurler and Gaelic footballer who plays as a right wing-forward for club side St Patrick's and at inter-county level with the Limerick senior hurling team. He is a former member of the Limerick senior football team. Early life Hegarty was born in Limerick. His father, Ger Hegarty, was an All-Ireland runner-up with the Limerick senior hurling team in 1994. Playing career College Hegarty first came to prominence as a hurler with Castletroy College. Ornithine Transcarbamylase Deficiency
Ornithine transcarbamylase deficiency also known as OTC deficiency is the most common urea cycle disorder in humans. Ornithine transcarbamylase, the defective enzyme in this disorder is the final enzyme in the proximal portion of the urea cycle, responsible for converting carbamoyl phosphate and ornithine into citrulline. OTC deficiency is inherited in an X-linked recessive manner, meaning males are more commonly affected than females. In severely affected individuals, ammonia concentrations increase rapidly causing ataxia, lethargy and death without rapid intervention. OTC deficiency is diagnosed using a combination of clinical findings and biochemical testing, while confirmation is often done using molecular genetics techniques.
