Mark Craig Smith (born 21 March 1960) is an English former professional association football, football player and Coach (sport), coach, and current loans manager at Sheffield United F.C., Sheffield United and a first-team coach at Ossett United F.C., Ossett United. An England national under-21 football team, England under-21 international, he posted 510 league appearances in a seventeen-year career in the English Football League, Football League. He spent the first ten years of his career at Sheffield Wednesday F.C., Sheffield Wednesday, and by the time he left for Plymouth Argyle F.C., Plymouth Argyle in 1987 he had made 282 league appearances for Wednesday. In sports leagues, promotion and relegation is a process where teams are transferred between multiple divisions based on their performance for the completed season. Leagues that use promotion and relegation systems are often called open leagues. In a system of promotion and relegation, the best-ranked team(s) in the lower division are ''promoted'' to the higher division for the next season, and the worst-ranked team(s) in the higher division are ''relegated'' to the lower division for the next season. In some leagues, playoffs or qualifying rounds are also used to determine rankings. This process can continue through several levels of divisions, with teams being exchanged between adjacent divisions. FA Cup Semi-finals
The FA Cup semi-finals are played to determine which teams will contest the FA Cup Final. They are the penultimate phase of the FA Cup, the oldest Association football, football tournament in the world. Location The semi-finals have always been contested at neutral venues. Since 2008, all semi-finals have been held at the new Wembley Stadium (1923), Wembley. In the past any suitably large ground which was not the home ground of a team in that semi-final was used. The 1983– 84 season was the 85th completed season of the English Football League. Liverpool had a successful first season under the management of Joe Fagan as they wrapped up their third successive league title and the 15th in their history.
