A point guard has perhaps the most specialized role of any position. The 1973 NBA draft was the 27th annual draft of the National Basketball Association (NBA). The draft was held on April 24 and May 5, 1973, before the 1973–74 season. In this draft, 17 NBA teams took turns selecting amateur U.S. college basketball players and other eligible players, including international players. Rockford West High School (sometimes referred to as West) was a 9 through 12 grade high school of Rockford Public School District 205 in Rockford, Illinois. Opened in 1940 to replace Rockford High School, West opened simultaneous to Rockford East to serve the quickly expanding population.
