Mark Schaeffer
Mark Philip Schaeffer (June 5, 1948 – June 1, 2022) was an American professional baseball player. He played in Major League Baseball as a left-handed pitcher for the San Diego Padres in . He batted and threw left-handed. Schaeffer was born in Santa Monica, California, and attended Grover Cleveland High School in Reseda, California. He was drafted by the Boston Red Sox in the second round of the 1966 Major League Baseball draft. He was traded along with Derrel Thomas and Bill Greif William Briley Greif (born April 25, 1950) is a retired professional baseball pitcher. In baseball, the pitcher is the player who throws ("pitches") the baseball from the pitcher's mound toward the catcher to begin each play, with the goal of retiring a batter, who attempts to either make contact with the pitched ball or draw a walk. The Waterloo Hawks were a National Basketball League and National Basketball Association team based in Waterloo, Iowa.
