''The Ultimate Fighter: United States vs. United Kingdom'' is the ninth installment of the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) produced reality television series ''The Ultimate Fighter''. It began production in January 2009, and began airing on Spike on April 1, 2009. The season featured Lightweight fighters (146–155 lb) and Welterweight fighters (156–170 lb). In order to be considered for the show, a fighter had to have competed in at least three professional bouts prior to the tryouts in October 2008. UFC Middleweight fighter and winner of The Ultimate Fighter 3, Michael Bisping served as one of the two coaches. The other coach was Dan Henderson. Henderson earned his place as a coach at UFC 93 by defeating Rich Franklin. Bisping and Henderson fought each other at UFC 100 on July 11, 2009. Mark Millar (; born 24 December 1969) is a Scottish comic book writer and television producer who first came to prominence with a run on the superhero series '' The Authority'', published by DC Comics' Wildstorm imprint. George Garfield Nader, Jr. (October 19, 1921 – February 4, 2002) was an American actor and writer. He appeared in a variety of films from 1950 to 1974, including ''Sins of Jezebel'' (1953), '' Congo Crossing'' (1956), and ''The Female Animal'' (1958). During this period, he also did episodic television and starred in several series, including NBC's ''The Man and the Challenge'' (1959–60). In the 1960s he made several films in Germany, playing FBI agent Jerry Cotton. He is remembered for his first starring role, in the low-budget 3-D sci-fi film ''Robot Monster'' (1953), known as "one of the worst films ever made.” Discreetly gay during his acting career, he and his life partner Mark Miller were among Rock Hudson's closest friends. Justin Mark Miller (August 27, 1977 – June 26, 2013) was an American professional baseball pitcher. He played in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the Toronto Blue Jays, Florida Marlins, San Francisco Giants, and Los Angeles Dodgers. He also played in Nippon Professional Baseball (NPB) for the Chiba Lotte Marines. Miller was the inspiration for the "Justin Miller rule" requiring pitchers with arm tattoos to wear long-sleeved shirts. Mark "Thriller" Miller is an American former AMA superbike motorcycle racer and current road racer in the Isle of Man TT and Macau Grand Prix. In 2010 he won the TT Zero race which replaced the 2009 format called TTXGP in which he failed to finish the course. In both events Miller rode MotoCzysz machines, winning on an updated bike designated MotoCzysz E1pc. His victory at the Isle of Man is featured in the film '' Charge, Zero Emissions/Maximum Speed'' by Mark Neale. Miller finished 2nd in the 2011 race and 3rd in 2012, again on MotoCzysz machines. The better-placed finishers were highly experienced TT racers John McGuinness and Michael Rutter who normally competed aboard top-flight conventional petrol (US-gas) engined machines in both TT and short-circuit racing at professional level.
