Mark Kiprotich Mutai (born 23 March 1978), also spelled Muttai, is a runner from Kenya, who specializes in 400 metres. He is a Commonwealth Games gold medallist. He competed at the 2009 world championships in Berlin, Germany, but did not advance from the heats. In 2010 he was part of the Kenyan 4x400 metres relay team that won gold at the 2010 African Championships in Athletics. In the individual event he was fourth, despite recording the same time as bronze medallist Gary Kikaya of DR Congo. Mutai was part of the African 4x400 metres relay team that finished third at the 2010 IAAF Continental Cup. Athletics At The 2010 Commonwealth Games
The athletics competition at the 2010 Commonwealth Games was held in New Delhi, India between 6 and 14 October. The track and field events took place between 6–12 October at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium while the marathon contests were held on a street course running through the city on 14 October. A total of 46 athletics events were contested, which made it the sport with the second greatest number of medals on offer after the aquatics competition. The programme was almost identical to that of the 2006 edition, with the sole exception being the men's 50 km race walk, which was dropped. As in 2006, three men's and three women's disability athletics events were contested alongside the open competition. Each of the Commonwealth Games Associations could send a maximum of three participants per event and a team of six for relay events. Gary Kikaya
Gary Senga Kikaya (born 4 February 1980) is a retired sprinter from the Democratic Republic of the Congo. He competed in the 400 m event at the 2004 and 2008 Olympics, but failed to reach the finals. Education Kikaya is the son of Kikaya bin Karubi, a former Information Minister of the Congo, and a former Special Assistant to President Joseph Kabila. At the age of 12 his family moved to Johannesburg, South Africa, where his father served as the Congolese Ambassador to South Africa.
