Mark King (musician)
Mark Raymond King (born 20 October 1958) is an English musician. He is the lead singer and bassist of the band Level 42. King is known for his slap style of playing the bass guitar, with MusicRadar describing him as "the guy who put the slap in pop during the 80s". King received a BASCA Gold Badge Award in October 2015 in recognition of his contribution to British music. He won the "Outer Limits" award at the 2017 Progressive Music Awards. Early life King was born and brought up in Cowes, Isle of Wight, off the south coast of England. His father, Raymond King, was a dairyman, and the family lived in a tied dairy house. King recalled in a 2006 newspaper interview, "it was post-war, with one brass tap, an outside toilet and a zinc bath in front of the fire". He later lived on the Camp Hill and Albany prison estates on the outskirts of Newport. Mark King (snooker Player)
Mark King (born 28 March 1974) is an English professional snooker player. Having turned professional in 1991, King was ranked within the world's top 32 players between 1996 and 2015, and won his first ranking event title in 2016, defeating Barry Hawkins 9–8 in the final of the Northern Ireland Open. He has also appeared in two other ranking tournament finals: the 1997 Welsh Open, where he lost 2–9 to Stephen Hendry; and the 2004 Irish Masters, where Peter Ebdon defeated him 10–7. King has reached the last 16 of the World Championship seven times, in 1998, 1999, 2001, 2002, 2008, 2009 and 2013, but has never progressed beyond this stage. Career King turned professional in 1991 and advanced steadily through the rankings, reaching the top 48 by 1996. Mark King (footballer)
Mark King (born 6 June 1988) is an English former professional footballer. He had previously been signed on non-contract terms at Northwich Victoria F.C. after being released by Accrington Stanley at the end of the 2007–2008 season, however he left Northwich in September 2008. Career He started his career at Blackburn Rovers after coming through the youth system and then into the reserves. However, he failed to make an appearance for the first team side at Ewood Park in the Premier League, mainly because he sustained two serious knee injuries. He was signed by Football League Two side Accrington Stanley on 11 January 2008 on a free transfer. He first caught the eye of John Coleman when he featured for Blackburn Rovers in a training match against Accrington in a training match in December 2007. King can play at left-back or centre-back.
