Mark Hall (musician)
John Mark Hall (born September 14, 1969) is the lead vocalist for the Georgia-based contemporary Christian music group Casting Crowns, a seven-member group composed of worship leaders. Hall is also youth pastor at Eagle's Landing First Baptist Church in McDonough. Early childhood Hall was diagnosed with learning disabilities as a child, including attention deficit disorder just before third grade. He also was diagnosed with dyslexia. Mark defines himself as "a broken person made whole". He talks about his trials in his book ''Lifestories''. Early ministry Hall served as youth pastor to the First Baptist Church of Samson, Alabama and other churches while pursuing a music degree at the Baptist College of Florida. Upon earning his degree, Mark and his wife Melanie moved to Loganville, Georgia, where he served as the Minister of Music and Students at Center Hill Baptist Church. As a folkstyle wrestler, Hall was an NCAA Division I National champion (three-time finalist) and a three-time Big Ten Conference champion (four-time finalist) out of the Pennsylvania State University. As a freestyle wrestler, Hall was the 2021 US Open National champion, 2018 Pan American Continental champion, a two–time Junior World Champion and a Cadet World Champion. Mark Hall (born January 22, 1965) is an American politician from Cleveland, Tennessee. From 2006 to 2018, he served as a seventh district commissioner on the Bradley County commission. He is served as the representative for the Tennessee House of Representatives district 24 from 2019 to 2023. Background Mark Hall served in the United States Marine Corps. He is a small business owner, operating a barber shop in Cleveland, which he founded with $700 to his name. Legislative history and tenure Mark Hall was first elected to the Bradley County Commission District 7 seat in 2006. This district includes much of the city of Cleveland. Mark Hall Academy, formerly Mark Hall Specialist Sport College, is a coeducational secondary school with academy status, located in Harlow, Essex, England. History The school was previously a specialist Sports College under the Harlow Education Trust. In September 2013 the school converted to an academy under the sponsorship of the Academy Transformation Trust (ATT) as a result of an Inadequate rating by Ofsted, with Corinne Franceschi as its first Principal and Allan Osborne as Associate Principal. It was judged Good in 2016 but a further inspection in 2020 judged it Inadequate. Marks Hall was a Jacobean country house some north of Coggeshall in Essex, England. Previously a timber manor house, the 17th-century brick building was demolished in 1950. History In 1163 the manor house and estate of Markshall were granted to the Markshall family after being confiscated from Hugh de Essex. They descended in the Markshall family until the estate was sold to John Cole, who renovated parts of the house. It was then sold to Edward Deraugh in 1581. In 1605 Robert Honywood purchased Marks Hall from Deraugh's grandson, William, pulled down part of the old timber-framed house and built a new brick building in 1609. The estate then descended in the Honywood family to John Lamotte Honywood who, dying childless by suicide in 1694, left it to his cousin Robert. Robert, the MP for Essex, modernised the house and died in 1735. It was inherited by Robert's second son, grandson, and then his fifth son, Philip.
