Mark Goodlad
Mark Goodlad (born 9 September 1979) is an English former professional footballer who played as a goalkeeper; his most recent role was as goalkeeping coach at club York City. He began his career at Nottingham Forest, playing on loan at Scarborough , before joining Port Vale in 2000. He became the Vale's first choice keeper for a number of seasons until he was forced to retire due to injury in 2008. During his time at Vale Park he was made Player of the Year in 2001–02, and also picked up a Football League Trophy winner's medal in 2001. In all he made 250 competitive appearances in a ten years professional career. Playing career Goodlad kept goal for Barnsley schoolboys from the age of eleven to sixteen, spent time at the Rotherham United centre of excellence, and also represented England at under-15 level. Barnsley
Barnsley () is a market town in South Yorkshire, England. As the main settlement of the Metropolitan Borough of Barnsley and the fourth largest settlement in South Yorkshire. In Barnsley, the population was 96,888 while the wider Borough has seen an increase of 5.8%, from 231,200 in 2011 census to 244,600 in 2021 census. English Football League
The English Football League (EFL) is a league of professional football clubs from England and Wales. Founded in 1888 as the Football League, the league is the oldest such competition in the world. It was the top-level football league in England from its foundation until 1992, when the top 22 clubs split from it to form the Premier League. Jonny Brain
Jonathon Robert Brain (born 11 February 1983) is an English former footballer who played as a goalkeeper. A former Carlisle United trainee, he joined Newcastle United in 1999. He moved on to Port Vale in 2003, never having played for Newcastle or Carlisle. Three years later, he transferred to Macclesfield Town, where he became the first-choice keeper. Following this, he spent the 2010–11 campaign with Walsall. He then entered the non-league scene with Nantwich Town, before joining Stafford Rangers in July 2013. Administration (British Football)
In the United Kingdom, football clubs sometimes choose to enter administration (sanction) when they are unable to pay off outstanding debts. Under the Insolvency Act 1986, a business will face a winding-up order bringing them to court and if it is shown that a business cannot pay debts as they fall due or cannot repay outstanding debts then the company will be classified as insolvent. The Millennium Stadium ( cy, Stadiwm y Mileniwm), known since 2016 as the Principality Stadium ( cy, Stadiwm Principality) for sponsorship reasons, is the national stadium of Wales. Dean Delany
Dean Delany (born 15 September 1980) is an Irish former footballer who played as a goalkeeper. Beginning his career in England with Everton in 1997, three years later he moved on to Port Vale, having never turned out for the first team at Everton despite winning caps for the Republic of Ireland under-21s and lifting the FA Youth Cup. He spent four years with Vale, and did make 39 first team appearances, though was never their first choice keeper. He also spent time on loan at Macclesfield Town, but never made it onto the field. He returned to Ireland in 2004 to sign a contract with Shelbourne, who he helped to the League of Ireland title in 2006. He spent 2007 with Waterford United, though returned to Shelbourne the following year. Kevin Pilkington
Kevin William Pilkington (born 8 March 1974) is an English football coach and former professional footballer who is now the goalkeeping coach at club Luton Town. As a player, he had a 25-year career as a goalkeeper, playing 439 league and cup games. Noted for his shot stopping abilities, Pilkington notably played in the Premier League for Manchester United before dropping down to the English Football League, where he played in nearly 350 games in his time at Mansfield Town and Notts County, helping Mansfield win promotion out of the Third Division in 2001–02. He spent five years with Mansfield and then another ten years over two spells with Notts County; at both clubs he was usually the first choice keeper, rather than a back-up keeper as he was at most other clubs.
