Mark Farley
Mark Farley (born April 5, 1963) is an American football coach. He is the head coach at the University of Northern Iowa, a position he has held since 2001. Farley started at inside linebacker at Northern Iowa from 1983 to 1985. He led the team in Tackle (football move), tackles in 1984 and 1985, was named Missouri Valley Football Conference, Gateway Football Conference Co-Defensive Player of the Year in 1985, first team all-conference three times, earned honorable mention All-America honors twice and twice named Academic All-American. He then became an assistant at Northern Iowa Panthers football, Northern Iowa. In 1989, he was named linebackers coach by new head coach Terry Allen (American football coach), Terry Allen. In 1997, he followed Allen to the University of Kansas, but left in 2001 when the head coaching position at his alma mater opened up. Principal Charity Classic
The Principal Charity Classic is an annual PGA Tour Champions golf tournament in Des Moines, Iowa. It has been held at the William Langford-designed Wakonda Club since 2013. Founded in 2001 as the Allianz Championship, that name has been used by another tournament in Florida since 2007. The Principal Charity Classic, which raises money for Iowa children's charities, donated a record $6.7 million in 2020. This brought the event's charitable giving total to more than $30 million since 2007. In September 2017, Principal announced the renewal of its title sponsorship through 2023. The 2008 Northern Iowa Panthers football team represented the University of Northern Iowa in the 2008 NCAA Division I FCS football season. The previous year's team finished first (of nine) in the Gateway Football Conference. The Gateway Football Conference was renamed the Missouri Valley Football League in June 2008.
