Mark Budaska
Mark David Budaska (born December 27, 1952) is an American former Major League Baseball outfielder and former hitting coach for the St. Louis Cardinals. Early and personal life Budaska was born on December 27, 1952, in Sharon, Pennsylvania. He is an alumnus of Granada Hills (CA) High School. He was undrafted and was signed by the Oakland Athletics as an amateur free agent in 1973. Career Playing career Budaska played five seasons at the Triple-A level, but just 13 games in the Major Leagues. He played his final MLB game on August 18, 1981. Coaching career Prior to joining the Memphis coaching staff in 2008, Budaska spent the six years in the Boston Red Sox organization. Designated Hitter
The designated hitter (DH) is a baseball player who bats in place of another position player, most commonly the pitcher. The position is authorized by Major League Baseball Rule 5.11. It was adopted by the American League in 1973 and later by the National League in 2022, making it universal in MLB. Within that time frame, nearly all amateur, collegiate, and professional leagues worldwide have adopted the designated hitter or some variant, with the notable exception of Nippon Professional Baseball's Central League. Arkansas Travelers
The Arkansas Travelers, also known informally as The Travs, are a Minor League Baseball team based in North Little Rock, Arkansas. The Travelers are affiliated with the Seattle Mariners as members of the Texas League. History The team succeeded the Double-A Little Rock Travelers of the Southern Association, which folded after the 1961 season. American expatriate players began to steadily find spots on Nippon Professional Baseball (NPB) rosters in the 1960s. Jobel Jiménez (born November 27, 1974) is a Venezuelan professional baseball coach. He previously served as the assistant hitting coach for the St. Louis Cardinals of Major League Baseball (MLB). Career Jiménez played in Minor League Baseball for the Los Angeles Dodgers organization for two seasons, in 1993 and 1994. After his playing career, he worked as a scout and outfield instructor for the Dodgers. He then coached in the Seattle Mariners and Boston Red Sox organizations. Jeffrey A. Albert (born October 31, 1980) is an American professional baseball coach, currently in the role of Director of Hitting for the New York Mets. He has previously coached in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the Houston Astros and St. Louis Cardinals. Career Albert graduated from Bishop Kearney High School in Rochester, New York. He attended Butler University, where he played baseball for the Bulldogs. After graduating in 2003, he signed with the Washington Wild Things of the Frontier League, an independent baseball league.
