Mark Arnold (historian)
Mark Arnold (born December 15, 1966, in San Jose, California) is an American writer and commentator who grew up in Saratoga, California. He has contributed to several publications in the United States, including ''The Comics Journal'', ''Hogan's Alley (magazine), Hogan's Alley'', ''Back Issue!'', and ''Comics Buyer's Guide''. Arnold also worked with Jerry Beck and Leslie Cabarga on their ''Harvey Comics Classics'' series for Dark Horse Comics. Arnold has a BA degree in Broadcast Communication Arts from San Francisco State University, and has studied art through Art Instruction Schools. He currently resides in Springfield, Oregon. Books Arnold has written numerous books about comic books, animation and music. The first, ''The Best of The Harveyville Fun Times!'', focused on the comic book publisher Harvey Comics. The Pink Panther
''The Pink Panther'' is an American media franchise primarily focusing on a series of comedy-mystery films featuring an inept French police detective, Inspector Jacques Clouseau. The franchise began with the release of the classic film ''The Pink Panther'' in 1963. The role of Clouseau was originated by and is most closely associated with Peter Sellers. Most of the films were written and directed by Blake Edwards, with theme music composed by Henry Mancini. Elements and characters inspired by the films were adapted into other media, including books, comic books, video games and animated series. The first film in the series derives its name from a pink diamond that has enormous size and value. Harvey Kurtzman
Harvey Kurtzman (; October 3, 1924 – February 21, 1993) was an American cartoonist and editor. His best-known work includes writing and editing the parodic comic book '' Mad'' from 1952 until 1956, and writing the ''Little Annie Fanny'' strips in ''Playboy'' from 1962 until 1988. His work is noted for its satire and parody of popular culture, social critique, and attention to detail. Kurtzman's working method has been likened to that of an auteur, and he expected those who illustrated his stories to follow his layouts strictly. Kurtzman began to work on the New Trend line of comic books at EC Comics in 1950. He wrote and edited the ''Two-Fisted Tales'' and ''Frontline Combat'' war comic books, where he also drew many of the carefully researched stories, before he created his most-remembered comic book, ''Mad'', in 1952.
