Marjana Semkina (musician)
Marjana Semkina (also: Mariana Semkina; Russian: Марьяна Сёмкина) is a Russian-born singer and songwriter, based in the United Kingdom since 2020. She has released music as a solo artist, and as a member and co-founder of the bands Iamthemorning and Maer. Biography Early life Marjana Semkina was born in the Baikonur Cosmodrome, where her father worked as part of the spaceport team, before moving to the Russian city of Kazan and then Moscow. In 2007 she moved to St. Petersburg, where she started the first of several music projects. Music career In 2010 Semkina met pianist and composer Gleb Kolyadin, and the pair formed the progressive rock band Iamthemorning, with Semkina as co-writer, lyricist, and lead vocalist. Semkina also acts as the band's manager and art director. Baikonur Cosmodrome
The Baikonur Cosmodrome ( kk, Байқоңыр ғарыш айлағы, translit=Baiqoñyr ğaryş ailağy, ; russian: Космодром Байконур, translit=Kosmodrom Baykonur, ) is a spaceport in an area of southern Kazakhstan leased to Russia. The Cosmodrome is the world's first spaceport for orbital and human launches and the largest (in area) operational Spaceport, space launch facility. All crewed Russian spaceflights are launched from Baikonur. The spaceport is in the Kazakh Steppe, desert steppe of Baikonur, about east of the Aral Sea and north of the river Syr Darya. It is near the Tyuratam railway station and is about above sea level. Steven Rothery (born 25 November 1959) is an English musician. He is the original guitarist and the longest continuous member of the British rock band Marillion. Outside Marillion, Rothery has recorded two albums as part of the duo the Wishing Tree and an instrumental solo album, ''The Ghosts of Pripyat'', released in September 2014. Anathema (band)
Anathema were an English rock band from Liverpool. The group was formed in 1990 by Vincent and Daniel Cavanagh, bassist Jamie Cavanagh, drummer/keyboardist John Douglas, and vocalist Darren White. The band maintained an active concert schedule throughout their career. They first toured in 1992 with the American death metal band Cannibal Corpse; they since performed throughout Europe, the United States, Central America, Australia, New Zealand, India, and Turkey. Daniel Cavanagh (born 6 October 1972) is an English guitarist and singer who formed the British band Anathema in 1990 with his brother Vincent Cavanagh. He is the band's principal songwriter, a role he had previously shared with bassist Duncan Patterson until Patterson's departure in 1998.
