Mariya Livchikova
Mariya Livchikova ( uk, Марія Лівчікова, born 28 April 1995) is a Ukrainian former artistic gymnast. Personal life Livchikova was born on 28 April 1995 in Horlivka. She started gymnastics when she was seven years old. Her mother, Oksana Viktorovna, is a former figure skater. Career 2011 Livchikova made her senior debut at the Cottbus World Cup. However, she did not qualify for any of the event finals. She then went to the Ghent World Cup where she won a silver medal on the balance beam behind Chinese gymnast Wu Liufang and a gold medal on the floor exercise. At the European Championships, she scored a 12.700 on the vault, 11.150 on the balance beam, and 13.600 on the floor exercise during the qualification round. She did not qualify for any event finals. At the World Championships, Livchikova tore her ACL during podium training, and it prevented her from competing for the remainder of the season. Horlivka
Horlivka ( , ; uk, Го́рлівка ), or Gorlovka (russian: link=no, Горловка ), is a city of regional significance in Donetsk Oblast, Ukraine. The 2014 World Artistic Gymnastics Championships was held in Nanning, China at the Guangxi Gymnasium from 3–12 October 2014. The 2013 World Artistic Gymnastics Championships were held in Antwerp, Belgium, from 30 September to 6 October 2013 at Antwerp's Sports Palace. Kōhei Uchimura won the men's all-around gold medal and finished the competition with four total medals. Torn ACL
An anterior cruciate ligament injury occurs when the anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) is either stretched, partially torn, or completely torn. The most common injury is a complete tear. Symptoms include pain, an audible cracking sound during injury, instability of the knee, and joint swelling. Swelling generally appears within a couple of hours. The World Olympic Gymnastics Academy (WOGA) is a two-facility gymnastics club located in Frisco and Plano. The head coaches at WOGA are former USA Gymnastics women's national team coordinator Valeri Liukin, who was a Soviet medalist at the 1988 Olympic Games, and Yevgeny Marchenko who coached gold medalist Carly Patterson. Natalia Alexeyevna Kononenko ( uk, Наталія Олексіївна Кононенко; born 25 August 1994 in Kyiv) is a retired Ukrainian artistic gymnast who competed at the 2012 Summer Olympics. She is a two-time European bronze medalist on the uneven bars. Career Junior Kononenko competed at the 2008 Junior European Championships and helped the Ukrainian team finish seventh. She qualified for the uneven bars and balance beam event finals where she finished eighth and fourth respectively. Stella Zakharova
Stella Zakharova (born 12 July 1963 in Odessa, Ukraine) is a retired gymnast who competed internationally for the former Soviet Union between 1977 and 1982. She was an Olympic and World Championship gold medalist in team competitions, and won individual all-around titles at other events. Zakharova won her first all-around championship at the 1976 All-Union School Spartakiade. That same year she placed second overall in the Junior USSR Championships. She was a consistently strong competitor through 1977-78, winning several vaulting and floor exercise event titles. A powerful tumbler, Zakharova was the first woman to incorporate three double-back somersaults into her floor routine.
