Marius Røvde
Knut Marius Røvde (born 26 June 1972) is a retired professional football player from Norway. During his career as a goalkeeper, he played at high levels in the Norway Eliteserien ( Hønefoss BK, Stabæk Fotball, Hamarkameratene, and Lillestrøm SK), Scotlish Premier League (Ayr United F.C. and Motherwell F.C.) and English Championship (Wrexham A.F.C.)). Most recently he has worked as Director, Deputy Technical Director and Goalkeeper Coach with various professional and national teams, including Major League Soccer clubs, the Vancouver Whitecaps and Minnesota United, and the national teams of Team Canada, Trinidad and Tobago FF. Coaching Rovde holds a UEFA 'A' goalkeeper "pro-license" and a KNVB Johan Cruyff Masters of Sports Management. In 2009, Rovde became director of goalkeepers for the Trinidad and Tobago Football Federation Men and Woman's program, and also served as Deputy Technical Director for TTFF Woman's program. In many team sports which involve scoring goals, the goalkeeper (sometimes termed goaltender, netminder, GK, goalie or keeper) is a designated player charged with directly preventing the opposing team from scoring by blocking or intercepting opposing shots on goal. Such positions exist in bandy, rink bandy, camogie, association football, Gaelic football, international rules football, floorball, handball, hurling, field hockey, ice hockey, roller hockey, lacrosse, ringette, rinkball, water polo, and shinty as well as in other sports. In most sports which involve scoring in a net, special rules apply to the goalkeeper that do not apply to other players.
