Marita Crawley
Marita Georgina Knight (''née'' Phillips; formerly Crawley; born 28 May 1954 in London, England) is a British songwriter and author. Her lyrics have been recorded by artists such as Peter Skellern, Demis Roussos, William Lovelady and Art Garfunkel. She has written the libretto for the opera ''PUSHKIN'', based on the lives of her great-great-great-grandfathers, Alexander Pushkin and Tsar Nicholas I of Russia; the music is by Konstantin Boyarsky. The opera was premiered in concert performance by Novaya Opera in Moscow on 4 February 2017. Its world premiere as a staged performance was at Grange Park Opera in July 2018. Marita Phillips studied acting at The Guildhall School of Music and Drama and ballet at the Nesta Brooking School before training as a mime with Adam Darius, with whom she founded and ran The Mime Centre, London. Andrew Stephen Bower Knight (born 1 November 1939 in England) is an English journalist, editor, and director of News Corporation. Early life Andrew Knight was born on 1 November 1939 to Group Captain M. W. B. Knight DFC and his wife S. E. F. Knight. Group Captain Knight was a decorated officer with the RAF, noted for founding Squadron 485, the New Zealand Squadron. (Harriet) Virginia Spencer Cowles OBE (August 24, 1910 – September 17, 1983) was an American journalist, biographer, and travel writer. During her long career, Cowles went from covering fashion, to covering the Spanish Civil War, the turbulent period in Europe leading up to World War II, and the entire war. Her service as a correspondent was recognized by the British government with an OBE in 1947. After the war, she published a number of critically acclaimed biographies of historical figures.
