FC Marisca Mersch are a Luxembourg football club, based in Mersch. They currently compete in the Luxembourg National Division, having been promoted from the Luxembourg Division of Honour at the end of the 2022/23 season. History The club was founded in 1908 under its current name. In 1940 as part of Germanisation of Luxembourg, FC Marisca Mersch was renamed Fussballklub (FK) Mersch. Following the liberation of Luxembourg, the original name FC Marisca Mersch was restored. In 1947, as runners up in Division 2 Serie 1, Marisca Mersch were promoted for the first time to the third level of the Luxembourg league pyramid for the first time, where they remained for 10 seasons. Mikhail Zaritskiy
Mikhail Zaritskiy (russian: Михаил Зарицкий; born 3 January 1973) is a retired Luxembourgian professional footballer. He was born in Leningrad, now St. Petersburg, Russian SFSR, grew up in the Soviet Union and later gained Luxembourg citizenship through marriage. Zaritskiy spent most of his career in Luxembourg, starting with FC Avenir Beggen and having two spells at Sporting Mertzig, either side of a spell in Germany and Greece. The 2022–23 Luxembourg Cup, also known as Loterie Nationale Coupe de Luxembourg, for sponsorship reasons, was the 98th year of the football knockout tournament in Luxembourg. The cup began on 7 September 2022. The winner of the cup earned a place in the 2023–24 UEFA Europa Conference League. Foussballclub Differdange 03 is a football club based in Differdange, Luxembourg. History Differdange 03 was formed in 2003 as an amalgam of two clubs from the city of Differdange: FA Red Boys Differdange and AS Differdange. When the clubs merged, in time for the 2003–04 season, Red Boys was languishing in the bottom half of the Division of Honour, while AS was in mid-table position in the third tier of Luxembourgian football.
