Marisa Zuriel
Marisa Zuriel (born August 19, 1982, in Buenos Aires) is an Argentine chess player who holds the FIDE title of Woman International Master. She won the Argentine women's chess championships of 2005 and 2012. Zuriel won the 2007 American Continental Women's Chess Championship in Potrero de los Funes, San Luis Province after a playoff match, which ended with an armageddon game, with Sarai Sanchez Castillo. Sarai Sanchez Castillo
Sarai Carolina Sanchez Castillo (born 28 July 1981) is a Venezuelan chess player who holds the titles of Woman Grandmaster (WGM, 2007) and International Master (IM, 2010). Biography From 1998 to 2001, Sanchez played for Venezuela in the World Youth Chess Championship in different age groups. Her best result was in 1995 where she ranked 7th in the U14 age group in Minas Gerais and 1999 in Oropesa del Mar, where she ranked 9th in the U18 age group. In 2001 in Cusco she was the winner of the Pan American Girl's Chess Championship in the U20 age group. In 2007, in San Luis she won in the Pan American Women's Chess Championship but she lost an additional match against Marisa Zuriel to qualify for the world championship. Women's World Chess Championship 2015
The Women's World Chess Championship was held from 16 March to 7 April 2015 in Sochi, Russia. It was a 64-player knockout tournament. It was originally scheduled from 11 to 31 October 2014 but problems in finding a sponsor and host city eventually forced international chess organisation FIDE to announce the postponement of the Championship on 24 September 2014, scheduling it for early 2015 in Sochi. The unclear state of the tournament was highly criticised by the Association of Chess Professionals (ACP). In the final, Ukrainian Mariya Muzychuk, seeded 8th, defeated Russian Natalia Pogonina, seeded 31st. As a result of this victory, Muzychuk was awarded the title of Grandmaster (GM), qualified for the FIDE World Cup 2015, and earned the right to defend her title in a 2016 match against the winner of the Women's FIDE Grand Prix Series 2013-14, Hou Yifan. The Women's World Chess Championship (WWCC) is played to determine the world champion in women's chess. Like the World Chess Championship, it is administered by FIDE. Fast chess, also known as Speed chess, is a type of chess in which each player is given less time to consider their moves than normal tournament time controls allow. Fast chess is subdivided, by decreasing time controls, into rapid chess, blitz chess, and bullet chess. Armageddon chess is a particular variation of fast chess in which different rules apply for each of the two players.
