Marios Batis (alternate spelling: Mpatis) ( el, Μάριος Μπατής, link=no; born 20 June 1980) is a Greek former professional basketball player and current assistant coach. During his club playing career, at a height of is a 1.91 m (6'3") tall, he played at the point guard and shooting guard positions. Professional career After playing youth system basketball with the junior teams of the Greek club Faros Keratsiniou, Batis began his pro club career in the 1999–00 season, with Panionios Athens, where he competed in Greece's top-tier level Greek Basket League. The 2018–19 Greek A2 Basket League was the 33rd season of the Greek A2 Basket League, the second-tier level professional club basketball league in Greece. The FIBA Saporta Cup was the name of the second-tier level European-wide professional club basketball competition, where the domestic National Cup winners, from all over Europe, played against each other. European Professional Club Basketball System
Professional basketball clubs in Europe can compete in a number of different competitions, including national leagues, regional (multi-national) leagues, and continental competitions. Greek Basket League
The Greek Basket League (GBL), often also referred to as the Greek A1 Basketball League, or Greek Basketball Championship (originally called Panhellenic Basketball Championship), and also known as the Stoiximan Basket League for sponsorship reasons, is the first tier level professional basketball league in Greece. It is run by HEBA ( el, ΕΣΑΚΕ, link=no), under the legal authority of the Hellenic Basketball Federation (E.O.K.). It is the highest-tier level of the Greek league system. 1999–2000 Greek Basket League
The 1999–2000 Greek Basket League season was the 60th season of the Greek Basket League, the highest tier professional basketball league in Greece. It was also the 8th season of Greek Basket League championship that was regulated by HEBA (ESAKE). The winner of the league was Panathinaikos, which beat PAOK in the league's playoff's finals, although the regular season winner was Olympiacos.
