Mario Migliardi (31 May 1919 – 8 August 2000) was an Italian composer of music for movies and television. He was born in Alessandria, Italy. Alessandria, Italy
Alessandria (; pms, Lissandria ) is a city and ''comune'' in Piedmont, Italy, and the capital of the Province of Alessandria. The city is sited on the alluvial plain between the Tanaro and the Bormida rivers, about east of Turin. Alessandria is also a major railway hub. History Alessandria was founded in 1168 with a charter as a free comune; it was sited upon a preexisting urban nucleus, to serve as a stronghold for the Lombard League, defending the traditional liberties of the communes of northern Italy against the Imperial forces of Frederick Barbarossa. Alessandria stood in the territories of the marchese of Montferrat, a staunch ally of the Emperor, with a name assumed in 1168 to honour the Emperor's opponent, Pope Alexander III. A Come Andromeda
''A come Andromeda'' (RAI, 1971), is an Italian television remake of '' A for Andromeda'' (BBC, 1961). It was still set in Britain ("in the following year") but filmed at Italian locations, and consists of five episodes of about one hour each. It was adapted by Inisero Cremaschi (who also appeared in a small role) and directed by Vittorio Cottafavi. Music was by Mario Migliardi. The cast includes Paola Pitagora as Judy Adamson, Luigi Vannucchi as Fleming, and Tino Carraro as Reinhart. Nicoletta Rizzi appeared as Andromeda, the person created by the supercomputer, replacing the singer Patty Pravo, who was originally cast in the role, but who did not fulfil her commitments, necessitating re-shooting of several scenes. This version still exists and has been repeated on Italian TV. It has been released on VHS, and latterly on DVD but without English subtitles. Plot Silver, who is elegantly dressed and lives in a hacienda with beautiful senoritas, is hired to find out if the accused Chester Conway, the black sheep of the town, really is guilty of the murder charge that he is to hang for.
