Marijn Veen
Marijn Anne Elise Veen (born 18 November 1996) is a field hockey player from the Netherlands who plays as a forward. Personal life Marijn Veen was born and raised in Utrecht, Netherlands. She is the daughter of former Dutch international player Stephan Veen. and former Dutch international player Susan van der Wielen Career Club hockey Veen played for Kampong until 2017 when she transferred to Amsterdam. National teams Indoor In 2016 and 2018, Veen was a member of the Netherlands Indoor team at the EuroHockey Indoor Nations Championship in Minsk and Prague, winning gold and silver medals respectively. She followed this up with a silver medal at the 2018 Indoor World Cup in Berlin. Under–18 and Under–21 Veen was part of the Netherlands U–18 Team at the 2014 Summer Youth Olympics where the team finished second, losing to China in the final. Women's Indoor Hockey World Cup
The Women's Indoor Hockey World Cup is an international indoor field hockey competition organised by the International Hockey Federation (FIH). The tournament was first held in 2003 and it is held every four years. Format Twelve qualified teams will be divided into two pools. The top two in their pool qualified for the first to fourth classification, while third and fourth qualified for fifth to eighth classification, the last two teams will play for last four placing. Qualification Qualification is set by the governing body, the International Hockey Federation. The Royal Dutch Hockey Association ( nl, Koninklijke Nederlandse Hockey Bond, KNHB) is the official governing body of Field hockey in the Netherlands. It governs both the indoor and outdoor field hockey leagues, as well as the Netherlands national field hockey team and the Netherlands women's national field hockey team. Originally, the association was also responsible for bandy in the Netherlands, but that sport is now governed by Bandy Bond Nederland. The Youth Olympic Games (YOG) is an international multi-sport event for athletes between 15 and 18 years old, organized by the International Olympic Committee. Field hockey is a team sport structured in standard hockey format, in which each team plays with ten outfield players and a goalkeeper. Teams must drive a round hockey ball by hitting it with a hockey stick towards the rival team's shooting circle and then into the goal. The match is won by the team that scores the most goals. Matches are played on grass, watered turf, artificial turf, synthetic field, or indoor boarded surface. The stick is made of wood, carbon fibre, fibreglass, or a combination of carbon fibre and fibreglass in different quantities. The stick has two sides; one rounded and one flat; only the flat face of the stick is allowed to progress the ball.
