Anna Maria "Marie" Tussaud (; née Grosholtz; 1 December 1761 – 16 April 1850) was a French artist known for her wax sculptures and Madame Tussauds, the wax museum she founded in London. John Theodore Tussaud
John Theodore Tussaud (2 May 1858 – 13 October 1943) was a British people, British sculptor, manager and chief artist of Madame Tussauds wax museum, as well as an author of several books. John Theodore Tussaud was born in Kensington, England, the great-grandson of Marie Tussaud. Although his father sold Madame Tussauds#History, Madame Tussauds to a company headed by Edwin Josiah Poyser in February 1889, John Theodore Tussaud continued in his role as manager and chief artist for many years. He exhibited a bust of Alfred, Lord Tennyson and other sculptures at the Royal Academy. He wrote a book on the history of Madame Tussauds and the book ''The Chosen Four'' about four of Napoleon Bonaparte's loyal supporters who followed him into exile on Saint Helena. The Boulevard du Temple, formerly nicknamed the "Boulevard du Crime", is a thoroughfare in Paris that separates the 3rd arrondissement from the 11th. The Reign of Terror (french: link=no, la Terreur) was a period of the French Revolution when, following the creation of the First Republic, a series of massacres and numerous public executions took place in response to revolutionary fervour, anticlerical sentiment, and accusations of treason by the Committee of Public Safety. Jacques Necker (; 30 September 1732 – 9 April 1804) was a Genevan banker and statesman who served as finance minister for Louis XVI. He was a reformer, but his innovations sometimes caused great discontent. Necker was a constitutional monarchist, a political economist, and a moralist, who wrote a severe critique of the new principle of equality before the law. Necker held the finance post between July 1777 and 1781, being "remembered today for taking the unprecedented step in 1781 of making public the country's budget, a novelty in an absolute monarchy where the state of finances had always been kept a secret." Louis XVI (''Louis-Auguste''; ; 23 August 175421 January 1793) was the last King of France before the fall of the monarchy during the French Revolution.
