Marie Alvarado-Gil is an American politician who represents California's 4th State Senate district in the California State Senate following her election in the 2022 California State Senate election. She is a member of the Democratic Party. Education Alvarado-Gil attended UC Davis, studying Animal Science. In her third year at school, she got pregnant, and consequently decided to drop out of school. She later went to University of San Francisco where she obtained both a Bachelor and a Master of Public Administration. Animal science is described as "studying the biology of animals that are under the control of humankind". It can also be described as the production and management of farm animals. George Radanovich
George Purdy Radanovich (born June 20, 1955) is an American politician and former U.S. Representative for , serving from 1995 to 2011. The district includes most of northern Fresno, as well as several rural areas northeast of the city. He did not seek reelection in 2010. He is a member of the Republican Party. Background Radanovich was born in Mariposa, California to a Catholic family of Croatian extraction. He was educated at California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo. After college, he performed a variety of jobs, including work as a banker, substitute teacher, and construction worker. He began growing grapes in his native Mariposa County in 1982, after observing a microclimate in the area suitable for their growth. A nonpartisan blanket primary is a primary election in which all candidates for the same elected office run against each other at once, regardless of the political party. James Wiley Nielsen is an American politician from California who served in the California State Senate for the 4th district. A member of the Republican Party, Nielsen served on the Yolo County Republican Committee before first winning election to the California State Senate in 1978. Nielsen served in the State Senate until 1990, in the State Assembly from 2009 to 2012, and returned to the State Senate following a 2013 special election.
